Toronto FC needed to win last night. In the last game of the season, they needed to win to move on to the MLS playoffs. They even played the worst team in the league, four-win New York. It was the last soccer game to be played at Giants Stadium before the Red Bulls move into their shiny new stadium, Red Bull Arena.
Toronto lost.
5-0.
On the bright side, however, it means big changes in Toronto. Their coach will probably be out, as well as a number of players. They should make some good offseason acquisitions and should be a better team next year. Or I hope they will.
I recently shelled out for a 12-month Xbox Live Gold card, so I won't have to worry about renewing until next fall. I've also discovered how fun NHL 10's Be A Pro mode is. It's a great game mode, toiling in the minor leagues and hoping for a shot with the big team. Really exciting.
In other sports news, Toronto FC has one game remaining on its regular season schedule. It holds the final playoff spot and will need to win at New York this coming weekend to qualify for the playoffs. It would be TFC's first playoff appearance in its short, three-year history.
I also beat Puzzle Quest, just needing an Xbox Live match win to complete the achievements for it. Any takers?
It appears I've reached Level 49, otherwise known as "Kidd Thunder !!"
Hooray!
