i have seen the original cartoon classic about the grinch a lot of times. it is a classic and i was always wondering if it was a halloween show or a christmas show. i have seen it both times of the year and even though it is christmas time when it happens you do see things of halloween. the grinch who stole christmas with boris karloff is a lot better than the one with jim carrey. it was a timeless piece to watch every year. kind of like the wizard of oz around easter. it is kind of a tradition in my family to watch these shows.

i think its both holloween & x-mas. the dude looks like a bloated green cupcake and looks like he stepped under a can of paint. and x-mas b/c of the snow, trees, and singing. i also prefer the boris karloff grinch to jim carry, jims movie just seems over done.

There was a special called "Halloween is Grinch Night". In this one, the Grinch (now voiced by Hans Conried) has apparently become evil again and a young Whoville boy is determined to keep the Grinch from terrorizing the town again. I don't remember if it were any musical numbers like in "How the Grinch Stole Christmas". In fact, the only part I do remember is, at the end, the Grinch skulks off, having been thwarted, but he says he'll be back next year and let's loose with an evil laugh. Needless to say, Conried isn't in the same class as Boris Karloff, but I would like to see "Halloween is Grinch Night" just see how it stood up all these years.
