Today I went to the VGXPO in Philadelphia. I went there to go check out many of the events that were being held there. There was a lot of neat stuff. The only problem is that nothing new was at the event.

When you first go in the convention center, you see Unreal Tournament 3 and Intel showing off a new racing game. That's pretty cool (even though Unreal Tournament 3 is over a year old). There were tournaments being held, with gaes such as Super Smash Bros. Brawl, Wii Sports, Halo 3, UT3, the racing game, Counter Strike, and World of Warcraft. They had a section where they had a bunch of arcade machines all free to play. hey were all classic games like Pac-Man, Galaga, Dig-Dug, Tron, Robotron, and Defender. There was this one interesting game that was a holographic arcade machine. This game is called Time Traveler, and it was made by Sega. According to Wikipedia, it was the first holographic game ever made.

They showed off some new games as well like Left 4 Dead, Far Cry 2, Rock Band, Guitar Hero, and Mortal Kombat vs DC. There were schools like Devry that were there advertizing their schools. There was even entertainment like the reenactment of Star Wars. Since there was an Anime convention with the show, there were a lot of cosplayers.

The reason why I didn't like it was 1. nothing new was shown, and 2. it was loud and crowded, but I should've expected that from this convention. I may return next year.
