GAMES: GameSpot GameFAQs MOVIES: Metacritic Movietome Comic-Con

Now, I'm not one to usual complain, but with this I feel that I just have to say something. Now you probable looked at the title and wonder what is my beef with gamespot.com and why I would take time to write anything bad about it; well recently my account was suspended by gamespot and I got to say I'm a little pissed.

I finally reached level 10 on my account so I started to upload some videos. I was unsure about how to categorize some of the videos(ex. Speed run) so I checked the knowledge database for so help and could not find a damn thing to help me out. Now don't go thinking that I just glanced over the stuff; NO!, first I looked through the 94 freakin' topics the database covers then I typed in "uploading videos" and "categorizing videos" and still got nothing. So I went ahead and uploading some of the videos as "speed runs" because they short videos, all under a minute, because I figured "speed runs must mean that they have to be quick videos". The uploads went through ok and I got myself two new emblems so I'm feeling pretty good. This is where things go wrong. Over the next few days, my profile gets more and more views, I mean a lot of views, I didn't think anything of it at the time.

One day, I'm on gamespot and I get bored, minimized it, and went to another site. About 30 minutes later, I get back on gamespot and found that I had 8 new messages. I'm thinking "damn that's a lot of messages, for me at least". I go to check the messages and all but 1 say "TOS violation", the last one told me that my forum privileges have been suspended. Apparently, I was being moderated for video blog and speed run emblem exploit, hell I didn't ever know that would Speed Runner emblem until it showed on my list. And because of this, I couldn't post any comments, send any PM's, I couldn't even post any blogs. Man, when gamespot wants to stick it to somebody, they really know which areas to poke at.

All this aside, I do like gamespot; as a gamer, this is one of the best sites to get the info I need on games; but it does have a mean side to it. I'm not saying I'm really mad, at least I know their doing their job, but I would for that database to be updated with information on the video categories. Thanks to everybody who took the time to sit down and read this, and if you're a gamespot.com employee reading this and you got a little pissed by reading this, I don't care, delete me!, I ain't ever scared....(I'm just kidding. I don't want to come on gamespot the day after I post this and find that I've been banned altogether. That would really be messed up.)

P.S. By the time you all read this, it will have been 5 days since all this has happened.

Some people just don't have opinions. Like blackguy87.
blackguy87 must really love MovieTome and agree with every review we've ever written! What other reason could blackguy87 possibly have for not rating a single film?
