5. Madworld(Wii)- Madworld appears to be an exceptionally over the top video game. It looks like the amount of violence to from No More Heroes to a whole new level. I love the art style in this game, and at first I was worried that maybe the depth of field would be distorted by the black and white Sin City art style, but after seeing the game in action, these worries have been put to rest. It looks to be another extremely violent game that will be among the ranks of RE4 on Wii and No More Heroes. All in all, its not the violence its the fact that the Wii is being fully utilized for something other than kid or party games, and that is a great reason for me.

4. Halo 3:ODST(Xbox 360)- After getting my 360 about a month ago, I got Halo3 which, I've played at parties, and had previously played through most of the campaign, but after owning it, I've gotten so much more out of it. Its a truly awesome game that is still being played by millions after a year and a half later. After seeing that the new expansion pack features someone other than Masterchief and the usual, I'm actually a little excited. I've read through several of the Halo books, and what this game says to me is a chance to explore the univers outside of the main story that the books present. I'm still a bit nervous about how the actual ODST will play without the Chief's super-human abilitis, I also think that this can mix the gameplay up a bit, creating somethinhg very different than traditional Halo. I'm pretty excited to get my hands on a demo of this.

3. Starcraft2:Wings of Liberty(PC)- I, like so man other Starcraft fans, have been eagerly waiting for more than 10 years to get a sequel to game that, quite frankly, deserves one more than any series in the buisness. Starcraft is my favrite RTS and it is so awesome that still to this day, I bust it out and play some online with it. I'm am very excited to see Starcraft 2 for a few reasons. 1 is the story. Starcraft 2 didn't have a cliffhanger ending exactly, but man did it leave you wondering what would happen next. The awesome game that is Starcraft ended with Kerrigan successfully defeating her enemies and creating a an army big enough to conquer the galaxy. Even the ending subtitles left you with this feeling of more coming. Another thing is the online. Starcraft is know for its legendary online that is addicting and as good as any online out to this day. The good side of having this extensive wait is that Starcraft has been mooded and ajusted to near perfection creating several awesome games outside of the core online. Still, th most disappointing thing to me is that unlike the original Starcraft, we only get 1 campaign and its the Terran campaign. Whats even worse is that Starcraft 3 is going to be broken into 3 differnt games creating a trilogy for a sequel, which is insane. At least I know that after Wings of Liberty, I know it won't take 10 years for the next game.

2. The Conduit(Wii)- The Condit, how I am very excited for you. Just like Madworld, The Conduit is trying to put a mature, hardcore title on the Wii market, which many of us here on Gamespot have been waiting for for a long time. Other than Nintendo developed games, there have been few truly awesome core Wii titles, with exceptions of course. I am really excited about the conduit because when I first heard about the Wii the first genre I thought was a perfect fot was the FPS genre. The Wii controls just seem to be perfect for it, yet so few developers have even began to utilize it, especially for the FPS genre. The Conduit should be the Wii game that defines FPSs on the Wii. 16 player online, awesome controls, and a graphics engine that actually appears to fully utilize what the wii can really do. Its about time! Kudos goes to High Voltage software for having the balls to jump out there and try to market and develop a game for the hardcore on a console that is ridden with terrible ports and party games. To put all this effort in development takes a lot of work for a game like this is what the Wii really needs to show people, especially the hardcore gamers, that the Wii is a systme that deserves better games. I'd like to point out that despite some arguments, I think the Wii games that utilize the controls for FPs such as Metroid Prime 3 and MoHH are better controlling than PC and dual analog.

1.Resident Evil 5(Xbox 360)- Resident Evil 5 is game that I've been really wanting to play before I even knew anything about it. I played RE4 to death on both the Gamecube, and the Wii, and it is still awesome. Even for a last gen game, RE4 looked and played like a current gen game. RE5 has so much to live up to, but man does everything I've seen and played lead me to believe that this game will do more than live up to its predecessor. RE5 diches the lame and useless Ashley and gives us Sheva, basically Ashley with a gun and some kick-butt AI. Another thing I'm really excited about is the Co-op. I cvan't wait to get it and play online with a friend of mine that also played RE4 as much as me. It doesn't get any better than this. Although I have to admit that I'm pretty sure that RE5 is going even further away from its survival-horror, and moving more toward an action adventure game. With the Co-op and broad daylight levels I've seen so far, I'm pretty sure this game is not going to be any near as scary as as RE4, which compared to the rest of the series, was not really that scary. As a fan of the gamecube Resident Evil remake, I have to say that the series is loosing that fear, addrenine pumping edge it used to have. Now the fear has been replaced with action, but the addreniline pumping is still there. The game looks gorgeous, but what really stuck out to me was the the controls. I already miss the perfection that the Wii controls brought to RE4. RE4 and RE5 both feel like they are custom made for the Wii controls, and RE5 lacks the ability to do that because of the fact that the game isn't(not yet) coming to the Wii. I think once I get past that I will be in for a truly amazing game. RE5 sits at the top of my list simply because of all the potential it carries over from RE4 and the Co-op, and the fact that it carries the story of RE o forward.

This list consists of only the titles that have been confirmed for 2009. There are several of games coming to both the Wii and 360 that I am excited about that either haven't been given a date or hasn't been confirmed(Zelda, Mario, Pikman)
