I understand that game review sites like Gamespot and IGN can get a copy of a game earlier than the average consumer. So it makes sense to me that they would be able to have a fully fleshed out review in which they can legitimately comment on most aspects of a game. But riddle me this. How in the crap can some of these people on this website be giving a game like Fallout 9's and 10's? The game has been out for less than 24 hours, and since the campaign is supposed to take about that, what exactly are they basing the rating on? I honestly can't understand someone playing 4 hours of a game and declaring it soooooo awesome. Give me a break. I have played plenty of games that I thought were amazing at first only to grow bored and the repetitive nature of the game. Or vice versa. I have not liked a game at first, but after getting into the nitty gritty of it, the game really grew on me and became a favorite. To be honest, when I read some of these reviews by people who openly admit that they have only "just begun but the game is amazing," I immediately disregard their score, and I do so for the simple reason that they have NOTHING factual to back their opinion up with. It's like reading a student essay that makes some bold statement without backing it up. Without support and examples, the user review is just not that credible.

I wonder the same thing.

I agree with you, and not only that, but how do they write walkthroughs in the same amount of time?

I fully agree with you.

With the exception of a scant few, it's best not to read user reviews here. I've seen monkeys scribble more coherent text with their own feces. Their own feces for God's sake!

Its all a sales ploy. Give a game with a certain amount of hype a good review, people will buy. I dont understand why you'd need to offer a full walkthrough staright away though. Do people need coaxing into completing the game?

Its best to just disregard player reviews... games usually get either 9's and 10's or 1's and 2's. Most of them are poorly spelled with grammar that would make my six year old cringe and reek of fanboyism.

Exactly Laughlyn. The frustrating part is that those people are too ignorant to even realize that they just don't understand.

I feel your pain beutlich, it's aggravating to be sure. For some really well written and informed player reviews, look up gamespot user smerlus. He writes great reviews and some entertaining blogs to boot.

Dude... I totally understand you!
When new games come out, I love to hear what my fellow gamers have to say. Sometimes, I'm even more interested in gamer reviews rather than paid professional writers.
Truth is, the people who post up reviews and scores the moment a game releases I don't even consider them gamers. And like you said, whatever they say becomes irrelevant. Being the first to say something can easily lead to being the first fool in the room... poor sob's

Yah, but you need to think about the immense amount of games they need to review.

MSdude: I'm not talking about the GS reviewers. I'm talking about the normal gamer who writes a review for this website. They are not under any kind of deadline, so why post a half-a$$ed review?
