Here are my Top 10 best and Worst Sonic Games of all time. I've only included games which have been released in the UK.

Top 10 Best:

  1. Sonic the Hedgehog 2 (MegaDrive, 1992)
  2. Sonic the Hedgehog 3 & Knuckles (MegaDrive, 1994)
  3. Sonic the Hedgehog (MegaDrive, 1991)
  4. Sonic Adventure (Dreamcast, 1999)
  5. Sonic CD (MegaCD, 1993)
  6. Sonic Adventure 2 (Dreamcast, 2001)
  7. Sonic Rush (DS, 2005)
  8. Sonic Advance 3 (GameBoy Advance, 2004)
  9. Sonic the Hedgehog (Master System, 1991)
  10. Sonic Rush Adventure (DS, 2007)

Top 10 Worst:

  1. Shadow the Hedgehog (Gamecube, PlayStation 2 & Xbox, 2005)
  2. Sonic the Hedgehog (Xbox 360 & PlayStation 3, 2006)
  3. Sonic Riders (Gamecube, PlayStation 2 & Xbox, 2006)
  4. Sonic Unleashed (Wii & PlayStation 2, 200
  5. Sonic Labyrinth (Game Gear, 1995)
  6. Sonic R (Saturn & PC, 1997)
  7. Sonic the Hedgehog 2 (Game Gear, 1992)
  8. Sonic Drift 2 (Game Gear, 1995)
  9. Sonic 3D: Flickies Island (MegaDrive & Saturn, 1996)
  10. Sonic Heroes (PlayStation 2, GameCube & Xbox, 2004)

I picked up the Wii version of Sonic Unleashed on the cheap, and to be quite honest it is probably the worst game i've played this year. The Daytime stages are practically empty with hardly any enemies about and the warehog stages are absolutly awful. I don't understand why the reviews for the 360 version are 2-3 points lower as it is a far better game on the HD systems.

Well i'm nearing the end of Sonic Unleashed on the 360 (i've been playing it on my brothers console after my 360 went wrong) and it seems to be a game of padding and filler. While the daytime stages are great fun, although they are flawed. I also did not have any real problems with the night gameplay other than the camera during the platform stages which is as terrible as it usually is in a 3D Sonic game and the fact that these stages are far too long. My main gripe with this game lies with Adventure fields, these are only here as padding, they were pointless in Sonic Adventure and absolute garbage in the previous game, my question is why Sonic Team keep insisting on shoving this concept down our throat as it really slows down progression in the game. Another gripe is the Sun and Moon Medals. I spent an 1 hr and a half trying to find 20 sun medals need to get into the next Sonic stage one evening, I nearly turned the system off. At the moment i'm giving the game 7/10, however this may change after i played the last few stages.

I will be reviewing this game after I've finished it
