I know things like this have been bought up before but, this is my blog. ![]()
Zuko and Aang, even from the first episode we could tell that they weren't that different. Aang never wanted to be the Avatar and Zuko never wanted to be the son Ozai wanted him to be. So they ran, talked back and lived with the consequences of their actions. Throughout time they walked a similar path and both discovered what their destiny is to be.
Aren't we the same?
We all have the double sides and it is our human nature to, at times, give in to what is better for us at that instant and not look at what might be better for us in the long run. In Batman, Bruce Wayne was able to counter his personal madness and rise above and although this was done on a life altering scale he had the will power to do so. If he had not he may have just fallen into to playboy persona without the care he had shown for Gotham city.
The strange thing id this happens to us every day. We learn something or see something that makes us want to change our lives and yet a few days later we fall off and forget. I am not say we all do this there are many people out there who give up almost everything to better themselves, but as I look into my group of friends (and myself) I don't see that happening.
There are a lot of people who get critized for liking shows are people too much but maybe those people need to see what we can learn from television and in my next example movies. Lord of the Rings is a film (and a better book) were we can see the charaters grow and develop and in that grow ourselves.
If all of us are able to from our favourite characters and shows will we be happy with what we see in the mirror.

Batman is a pimp.
But anyways...I found myself reminiscing this afternoon because of the weather. I took into account the smells and sights and felt happy. It kind of changed me. Not sure how specifically.

LoTR though, I'd say Avatar's better. The Ba Sing Se story arc was the best I've seen of Avatar, better than what happened with the battle of Penelope(sp?) fields and Minas Tirith.
I'm not sure if there is anything better than Avatar. Deathnote seem's too reliant on its plot device of a book in my initial view of it.
In short, Avatar owns everything.
