Hey guys, just a blog of my games wishlist for this year and some other stuff.

Heres the list for this year:

  • DBZ: Burst Limit
  • Rock band
  • Madden 09
  • Saints row 2
  • GOW2
  • Viva Pinata: Trouble in Paradise
  • Legendary: The Box

And in other news...

I've been messing around with some profile schemes lately, though this Halo one isn't concrete it'll do for now and your feedback will be much appreciated. Also has anyone been catching The Line up? Since Jeff ect. left I wasn't really too keen on the gamespot shows but I'm really enjoying this one and the Giant Bombcast over on Giantbomb.com (can't wait till' it gets going this summer).

I know that everyone is talking about MGS4 right now, but I'm really excited for stuff like Ninja Gaiden 2 and DBZ:Burst Limit at the minute. This is probably down to me not having a PS3 but I've never really checked out the series before this and I feel like if I go back and play the games now I won't appreciate them as much as I would of when they were first released.

On the Demo front, I tried out Battle Field: Bad Company and Quake Wars this week and was pretty disappointed. Battle Field could of been a great game with a few tweaks, I found the aiming to be way too sensitive and the control scheme that was purposely going for something different didn't work. By that I mean I think they should of stuck to the basic fundamentals 360 games, this may just be me but I can't get my head around LT being accelerate and LB beings brake (its crazy I tells ya!). I'm posative some people will love the game but the gameplay kinda blew it for me.

Now lets talk Quake Wars. I'm going to be brutally honest with this one, it feels like they grabbed Star Wars: Battlefront and The Outfit made them worse, combined the two and then put the thing into fast forward. It feels like a PS2 game to me, its not a complete shambles of a game however other games have done this better already.

So to sum it all up:

  • Check out The Line Up and Giantbomb.com
  • If your a hardcore Quake fan check out Quake Wars but if your not save yourself some time and download BF: Bad Company instead, you never know you might like it (probably not).
  • Whats your opinion on MGS4 and smaller titles out this month, my new layout and wishlist?

Get back to me

I was pleasantly surprised by the Burst Limit demo, quite a bit of fun. I'm most looking forward to Brawl and Top Spin 3.

Battlefield Bad Company was pretty terrible. I think the thing that ruined it for me was the terrible control scheme and horrific lag online. I havn't played Quake Wars yet but if I'm truely honest, Star Wars Battlefront is a complete rip-off of the PC Battlefields, they just put it in 3rd person so really Quake Wars is a rip-off of Battlefield. I would recommend going back and playing Metal Gear. I think it's still enjoyable even now, and you can always play Twin Snakes on the Gamecube if 1998 is too far back for you. My top game for 2008 would have to be:
Brothers in Arms: Hell's Highway (360)
World in Conflict: Soviet Assault (360)
Insurgency Beta 3 (PC Modification)
Black Mesa: Source (PC Modification)
Tom Clancy's HAWX (360)

I'm sure there's some other stuff, I'll edit my post if I remember it.

When I get my Xbox, they're all pretty much on my list.. apart from DBZ But gl with saving all the muneh! I still can't belive MGS4 got a 10.0, it seems they are giving 10.0's out to most games these days. But I'm not saying it's a bad game - just so I don't start off a fan-person war :s

Since the new system came in where the gaps are in .5's I think MGS4 does deserve a 10, not a 9.5. If the intervals were smaller I think it would've gotten 9.8 or 9.9. GTA IV didn't deserve 10, no way.

@Paul, I've only heard good things about brawl so far but I think I will prefer it immensely if it was on the GC. I played a bit of Top Spin at my mates, could never get into Tennis games though .

@Joe, I was interested at Alan Wake for a point but I can't be bothered waiting for it anymore. I'll probably see what everyone thinks of Tomb Raider before I buy it, Legend was pretty good though.

@Sean, any chance of me borrowing the Twin Snakes? I'm a bit limited this year but at Christmas I may invest in a Wii or PS3.

@Jonny, I never planned to get them all at once more like most of them for Christmas with any luck and a few on the way there. Don't knock DBZ till' you've tried it!

@Sean, I probably should of done this on the other one but meh. I agree with what you've said about GTA IV, I feel like its a lamer version of San Andreas with better graphics a 8.5 tops for me. MGS4 from what I've seen (courtesy of Youtube ) is really impressive so you may be right there.

Nice blog! I don't know what you've done but you seem to have made your blog posts more informative and formal yet keeping them the same amount of fun to read. I really like it.

Burst Limit to me seems to much like the other games in DBZ series but if you don't own one of them, it's a good game. Budokai 3 was really fun on the PS2.

Only games I am really looking forward to this year are Gears of War 2 and Viva Pinata 2.

I've never owned one of the games yet but really enjoy playing them, it seems like its something that improves with experience too.

Gears and Viva Pinata 2 are gonna rock, theres tons of new multiplayer features that have been announced which sound really great, I'll give you a link on msn some time. Cheers, I was thinking that when I wrote it not the fun bit but it seemed a lot better than my other blogs and felt less like a chore to write.
