at the suggestion of nhubi (a fellow regular of the New Doctor Who and Torchwood boards) I decided to compile alot of my eye-bleed-inducing photoedits on to my blog... its the only place they are remotly welcomed...

My take on who the next Doctor should be...

And his greatest foe! Davros (as played by Patrick Stewart)

In Doctor Who, the Master tells Cap'n Jack that his Torchwood team members won't help them b/c the Master had sent them on "a wild goose chase in the Himalyas"... On the board we went on to discuss what might have happened there... I said a Yeti gave Tosh a necklace so she slept w/ it (in reference to the TW episode "Greeks Bearing Gifts")... here's said Yeti w/ his "bling"...

GO GO SONTARAN RANGERS GOOOOO!

Most recently- a Cyberwraith rumored to be in the next x-mas special:

I went to talk to an old friend of mine who has been finally sent to the retirement home... As I went down the halls I noticed all kinds of familiar faces there was quite a few Cylons form the old Battlestar Galactica series nearly choking the walkways... I also saw some Jawas from the Star Wars films... Jaba the Hutt was there with his pet Rancor monster in tow... even 3 or 4 different types of Cybermen from Dr Who...

Finally i reached Bob's room as he was staring out the window at nothing in particular... he had just finished a game of checkers with a friend of his who played King Kong in the original black and white movie as the board and a couple of giant banana peels were left laying around...

Bob was a superstar back in the fifties and sixties... he had started his career in a bunch of b-level sci-fi and fantasy movies before his "big break"- Playing the Gorn Captain in the Star Trek episode "Arena". He always used to tell me how long the make-up took... him being of a naturally reptoid persuasion, the directors of the old Trek episode felt he was "Too scary" for prime-time viewing and made him spend hours to make him look quote: "Hokey.. Ya' know... like a guy in a rubber suit." Little did they know that within just a generation or two, even children's shows would have scarier looking "Monsters" than Ol' Bob.

As I go to sit down beside him with the TV screaming behind us in the corner of the room, I see a picture of his son, Leroy (who played Bossk in "The Empire Strikes Back") on his night stand... last I heard Leroy had fallen on hard times. Stuck with an insatiable cocaine habit from his days with George Lucas, he's been in rehab 4 or 5 times... but he still calls Lucas up at least 3 times a week looking for work.

Then on TV I hear an ad for the latest Sci-Fi Original movie. "Dark Scales" or something... the monster-of-the-week as, shown on the commercial, being a bunch of Computer Animated lizard-men...

A water-glass shoots across the room as Bob begins to scream at the now defunct Tv... "COMPUTERS!!! They're puttin us all out on the streets!!! How long has it been since you had a job? And the animation biz is not nearly as "digital" as sci-fi and fantasy!" I begrudgingly try to sweep up some of the glass and water... taking care to unplug the smoking tv before I start.
"You can't really blame them, Bob.' I venture," Its way cheaper then our salaries... And the kids like it better."
"but what about imagination? Huh? The suspension of disbelief? These kids are getting spoiled by fake monsters, forgetting about US! Look around this place! Once noble and terrifying, we waste away as people stop believing. Every time some one watches Arena or Creature from the Black Lagoon and LAUGHS at us we fade"...

At this point I started feeling a little awkward and left him... I don't wanna be around that...

I got enough stuff of my own to deal with.

Wizard Of Gore
So I went into this movie thinking it would be a fun lil gore flick... little did I know there was a dark, trippy plot that is convoluted and deep in all the best ways. I admit, I've never been able to track down a copy of the original 70's...

The Puffy Chair
Wow. A really good road-trip/coming of age type movie focusing on characters that talk and act like people I actually know. The humor scenes and dramatic scenes seem to work really well, imo, b/c of the solid characterization.

The Signal
Surprisingly good take on the modern "zombieish apocalypse"... reminds me of a nicely remade version of "The Crazies" by Romero... of particular interest is the second part where we see the world through the eyes of an...

The Last Winter
I was rather disappointed in this one. from reading the basic premise, I was hoping for a preachy version of "The Thing"... instead, it was rather slow moving, which normally I don't mind if used to heighten suspense or to emphasis the...

The Texas Chainsaw Massacre
This one was rather disappointing. Not the worst remake out there, but does a good job of destroying elements that made the original shine. The biggest thing that irked me about this one is the inclusion of so many night scenes. The fact the...
