About a week ago I finally gave in, and decided to buy a PS3. It was the price drop, and the threat of taking out the EE chip that made me cave in. So I got some money together, threw down my picket sign that said " Nice try. we won't buy!" and headed over to my local Gamestop. I got the 60GB version, and a copy of Ninja Gaiden Sigma.
After getting all the crap hooked up, and all the updates installed, I was ready to go. So far I've played through Sigma, and it's just as great as it used to be,only it's much prettier now. I also played the Resistance, and Motorstorm demos. They're both alot of fun, but I particularly liked the Motorstorm demo, so I ordered a copy online, and I'm playing through FFX while I wait for that to arrive.
Over all I'm very happy with my PS3 purchase. It's great turning on the system, and not seeing a McDonald's, or giant Halo 3 ad. And being able to save picture using the web browser, and use them for your background is just plain awesome.
And that's all for now.
In my last blog I said I was going to play Zelda:MM, and Super Mario 64. I decided to skip MM, and go right to Mario 64 ( Mario 64 is one of my favorite games of all time) and it's just as fun as ever. I claimed all 120 stars, and had a blast doing it. I was playing the Wii emulated version, and I noticed a few things weren't working properly, like some of the poles you jump on just weren't there, and then they would pop up later. But these problems were rare, and didn't affect the game enough to change my opinion of it.
After that I was still in a Mario mood, so I dusted off Mario Sunshine, and threwit in the Wii. This game is not Nintendo's best work by a long shot, but for the most part it's still a fun game. On the other hand, getting 120 shines in this game is not fun. In Mario 64 I could get every single star without using a guide. In sunshine, Nintendo decided to add a system were you could trade in blue coins for shines, and hunting for those little blue bastards can elevate your stress level to peptic ulcer proportions. So I looked up some blue coin FAQs, tuned into one of the Gamespot podcasts, and started to relax a little. I ended up getting all 120 shines, and after all that work, what do they give me? Not a nuclear powered water cannon of doom, not a super tripple jump, but a new 5 second ending screen... Knowing I fully completed the game made up for it a little, but I will not be playing this game again for a very long time. *stabs blue coin in the face*.
But enough about Mario for now. I was playing around at Amazon.com for a little while, and I found The Simpsons: Hit and Run for only $12. I heard it was the best Simpsons game Money could buy, so I quickly scooped it up, and it will probably be the next thing I blog about. That's all for now.
Well, I started playing Resident Evil 4 for the wii, and I'm loving it so far. The IR aiming is amazing, and I find myself juggling far more enemies than I ever could before. I've also noticed that alot more money drops than ammo, and this is good in my opinion because in the GC version I always had ammo to spare, and it makes the game a little more challenging. And with the $30 price tag, this game makes me a very happy Resident Evil fanboy.
I also just got done playing Killer 7, and it was a great experience, and a fresh one also. Everything about this game was like nothing I've played before. The story some times made my brain want to explode, but it all fell together in the end. Usually in games that have multiple playable characters, I tend to pick a favorite almost right off the bat, but I had a really hard time in this game, I loved all of them. But in the end, the one I used the most by far was Dan Smith. I liked how he held his gun over his shoulder, and his general attitude. There's only one aspect of this game I didn't like, and that's the extremely repetitive enemies. Yes, you could argue that there were lots of different types, but they all had the same theme, and I got really sick of seeing brightly colored zombies by the end of the game. But all and all, I'm very glad I picked this game up, and I'll probably be making a second run through it in the near future.
I'll be makeing an update every couple of weeks now. I think the next thing I'm going to be playing is Super Mario 64, and LOZ:MM. That's all folks.
