In honor of 4/20, a few of my friends and I went and saw .38 Special, Hank Williams Jr. (booooooooo) and Lynyrd Skynyrd. .38 Special opened the show up, and Hank Williams Jr. followed...but we all left during his performance to go buy shirts and food. After about an hour, Hank finished and, after the 15 minute set-up period, SKYNYRD came on. Needless to say, the freakin' rocked. From Simple Man to Tuesday's Gone to Sweet Home Alabama, Skynyrd played through all the classics. During Sweet Home Alabama about 15-20 Confederate flags could be seen in the crowd (that were sold at the T-shirt stand) and it was pretty funny. After Sweet Home Alabama, Skynyrd left the stage and the crew came out to "tear it down". However, no one bought the charade, because they hadn't played FREE BIRD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Free Bird was magnificent. The vocals were spot-on, the guitar solo was insane, and the song itself was really sad (they showed clips of the band members who died in the plane crash...gave the song a whole new meaning to me). Anyways, I'm gonna rap this choppy, poorly written account of the concert last night, because Def Leppard/Styx tickets go on sale in 5 minutes
