The Challenge: Pick any 5 memorable aspects from any TV show over the last year (memorable aspects can be characters, moments, episodes, relationships etc!)
I've tried to put a bit of variety in here, these aren't my top 5, it'd be too hard to do that so these are just the first 5 I thought of, as a word of warning, obviously as this whole blog is about moments from the last season of whatever show I'm talking about - it's probably best to avoid reading about any show you haven't seen yet so as to avoid spoilers!
Character: Alpha, Dollhouse

So one of my favourite new characters in TV this last season was Alpha from Dollhouse, without question. The threat of Alpha was my favourite story of Dollhouse, I haven't been Dollhouse's biggest fan, I mostly just enjoyed rather than loved it - but I always liked the idea of Alpha. Then Alan Tudyk came into an episode and I was really happy as he was playing the quirky funny type character I expected of him... needless to say that didn't last! I was shocked when he was Alpha (not sure if I was the only one and everybody else expected it!); but I loved him, he was creepy, and menacing...but still had funny lines. I think the best part of the Alpha character is it wasn't what I was expecting yet it worked so well, and Alan Tudyk is such an underrated actor... I have to say I loved Dollhouse just for him in the last 2 episodes - for me he was the best aspect of the show (which I'm sure many will disagree with!). But yeah - can you tell, I loved Alpha?! Not sure if I was too subtle...
Entrance: Castiel, Supernatural (1min 20 sec is where it kicks off for me!)

One of my favourite entrances in the last year of TV was Castiel's in Supernatural, I mean wow! I loved the idea of bringing in the Angel storyline, although I definitely remember thinking those wings don't look so angelic! I'm not sure what other people think of Castiel in general, he's ok for me (I still watch it for the brothers, and the brothers alone!) - but I loved his big entrance scene. Awesome TV! I couldn't look away and I remembered it first for this challenge despite it being the very first episode of the last Supernatural season - which is a sign that it was a great TV moment for me!
Finale: Chuck

I loved Chuck this season, much more so than season 1. There were so many moments in the last few episodes that were brilliant - I narrowed it down to just 3 moments in the last episode, which were Jeffster, Casey coming to the rescue and of course, Kung Fu Chuck! So this favourite really just refers to the Chuck finale; I think it was one of my favourite finales across all the shows I watch - it had so many funny moments, and dramatic moments - awesome! Although have to say, I was half expecting Kung Fu Chuck... but that still didn't quite prepare for the true wonder that was that finale... "Chuck Me" indeed !!
Storyline: Consequences of Vicodin, House

This storyline was amazing, great TV. Personally for me House just got fantastic towards the end of this season (not sure if that's a popular opinion or not); having also seen the Grey's Anatomy version of "hallucinations", I can say without a doubt that House is so so much better! I loved the progression of this storyline through the episodes and have to say all my pictures refer to House's realization that he hadn't kicked the habit and been with Cuddy - and I just loved and hated that moment all at the same time. I was absolutely surprised, but loved it, all building up to another brilliant finale... I think I liked it so much because typically House is very much about the individual episode, different patients and stories every week but this just felt like such a change in such a good way! I was a little disappointed about the House and Cuddy moment not being real but somehow I didn't feel cheated (unlike...no names mentioned...cough....Booth and Brennan...cough!).
Relationship: Penny and Sheldon

Ok so first off - I know this as a romantic relationship is all in my head. My hubby insists I'm crazy for this one, but it's there!! It's totally there!! Sadly, for this choice I can only talk about the platonic relationship as everybody (including the guy who plays Sheldon!) is denying anything more could exist! I love these two together, their dynamic is perfect - always funny and entertaining... The Christmas hug and the whole story preceding it were absolutely hilarious, and who can forget Penny singing Sheldon to sleep - "Soft kitty, warm kitty" ! I know the relationship will probably never progress anywhere but I love them as friends, and would just love it that little bit more if they were a proper couple!! Awesome characters individually, so I don't even have words to describe the Super-Awesomeness that is them together! ![]()
Other Worthy Mentions:

I'm not going to talk about these, but I watch so many shows now (a seriously insane number I can't bring myself to share!) so it was really really hard for me to cut it down to just 5 moments, so here's 3 more, which are: Bones - Brennan sharing her sad story to Sweets (so emotional and unexpected for her!), Pushing Daisies - Chuck hugging Ned through a plastic sheet on the roof and Dexter - the whole storyline surrounding Miguel was awesome!
There were so many more great characters and moments in TV this last year (needless to say the Bones finale will not be featuring in this list!!), be interesting to know what your favourites were...
Anyway, I better stop thinking about it or I'll remember too many other moments! Have a great week ![]()
Comments
Alpha is an excellent choice! Brill character! I was COMPLETELY shocked he was Alpha so you're not alone there...Alan Tudyk was a complete standout in the role...I loved it when he argued with himself
The final ep of Chuck season 2 was so good, probably my fav of all my finales too! Kung-Fu Chuck was a great 'cliffhanger' (If you want to call it that)...some great Sarah/Chuck moments too!
Haven't seen House Season 5 or Big Bang Theory so can't comment on those
Oooh, I totally forgot Brennans revelation about her childhood.....so emotional (Good extra pick!)
And my FAV Chuck/Ned moment!!!! Cutest thing ever!
I loved Alan Tudyk back on the screen. I suspected from the spoilers that he would be Alpha but they still fooled me a little. Great character. Loved the flash backs. Somehow the ending seemed a little anticlimactic to me but I still loved it and this way we'll get Alpha back next season.
Castiel's entrance was great! Wow, I didn't really like the wings and I thought I would be alone.
I loved the Chuck finale and I loved season 2 much more than 1 as well! Even though I loved the finale, I even loved the penultimate episode a little more.
House (wonderful House/Amber Closeup). The hallucinations were very well done. I am also hoping for a change and I am pleased.
Penny and Sheldon, I LOVE them!! You ship them a little? I do too!! You have seen the interviews with the Sheldon actor as well? I loved those. When he talked about "we find out, one day at comic con..." He is such a hoot. The hug!! And the song... I love them.
You're honorable mentions were great as well. I have to think whether I can add something... Wow, Katherine, I missed your blogs so much! It's scary and boring how much I agree with you. Sorry for being so lame.
I'm glad you liked my choices, I'm so happy that I wasn't the only one who loved Alpha so much, Alan Tudyk is amazing, and I have to say I didn't realise he'd be so good outside of a comedy role but he was great! ... and at least you don't think I'm totally crazy for wanting Penny and Sheldon to get together!
I definitely agree it was great to see Alan Tudyk again; I hadn't read any spoilers so I had no reason to suspect he'd be Alpha, but I love that he was! I know what you mean about it being a little anti-climactic, but I definitely hope they make the most of that and see his character some more!
As for Castiel, I think a lot of people loved him - I stayed fairly neutral, but him and Dean were always good though
Glad you like the House pic with Amber, I knew I wanted that moment as a pic because that was when my jaw dropped! Definitely sad at the end, but brilliant! As for Big Bang Theory - YAY for another Penny and Sheldon fan!!! I did see the interview you're talking about, I was so sad that he didn't see the relationship that I so clearly do!! But you never know, I can keep hoping!
Glad you liked the blog, sorry for the epic reply - I always seem to have so much to say!! And, it totally doesn't make you lame to agree, I never get bored of people having similar opinions to me!!!
I even agree with the Sheldon-Penny relationship. They are so cute! But im ok with Leonard-Penny too. They were cute in the finale.
Cya later!
I was a little disappointed, too, that he couldn't imagine Penny and Sheldon. Still, he is an actor, not a writer so there's hope yet!
Great blog, hope they continue.
Disappointment of the year- Life on Mars being canceled by ABC. Ahhhh, life with ABC calling the shots. Why is the Bachelor still on the air? Because ABC would rather cancel a quality drama instead of the crappy reality show where women pimp themselves on national TV. OMG! He's back from the dead- Tony Almeda from 24. Tony was poisoned and died between the hours of 7pm and 8pm on day 5 of 24. Or did he? We never saw actually DIE, did we? So through the miracle of television, on Day 7, Tony is alive and well and running with old pal Jack. Is he a bad guy, good guy, playing both sides? He's out for revenge and welcome back to my favorite character from 24!
1.Dollhouse I loved the episode "Man on the Street" and Echo (don't know the name of the person she was supposed to be) saids "it's porn, it's porn". That was so funny. 2. How I Met Your Mother
The Intervention episode. 3. 90210 Silver becoming Bipolar. I loved how crazy her character became. She sneaks into Mr. Matthews house, and throws a glass bottle at him and setting Dixon's backyard on fire, well pictures in the garbace can. 4. Being Erica
The last scene in the season finale when Erica goes to see Dr. Tom and it's a totally differernt office with a new Doctor.
5. Degrassi: The Next Generation
Liberty getting drunk and I think she got her stomach pumped.
As embarrassing as it is to admit, I did watch American Idol too, as much as I complain about the show being rubbish if I start watching it I have to see it through to the end! I think it's awful Adam didn't win, but he'll do well anyway I expect! As for Life on Mars, I am a bit sad it won't be coming back, but I quite liked it as it was, it didn't feel that rushed for me... I'll probably miss something like Reaper, or Pushing Daisies more
I haven't seen 24 since about S3 or S4, can't really remember which! Although I always quite liked Tony, so I guess I'm glad he's not dead
GLad you like the Chuck pick of mine, I think I just like Jeffster in general, always makes me laugh! As for House, I can understand why you wouldn't like the "dream" storyline; I usually hate those storylines too, but for some reason House's version didn't annoy me. I think maybe it felt a bit more justified because of the Vicodin thing, rather than just some random dream... but I don't know, to each their own! Thanks for reading, glad you liked the blog
Christian's cancer (Nip/Tuck) - Although I didn't love absolutely everything about Nip/Tuck or even this storyline, it's been a while since any TV has made me cry, and this definatly did it! Him going through the pain of it was heartbreaking... changing so much, he had a lot of character deveolpment. It was almost like watching someone become a diffent person and only half of it because he wanted to. Half of it he was forced into by the cancer.
The Terminator SCC finale - since you took the Chuck finale I won't take that and I thought they were equally good
The angels, demon blood drinking and the apocalypce (Supernatural) - (yeah not exactly ONE moment but I had to mention it) Best season arc since Angel season 5, IMO. It made me really love Supernatural, so full of shocking twists. Heart breaking moments and it always kept you looking forward to the next Supernatural episode more than any other episode. I'm in ah over how great this season and the arc has been.
Castle and Alexis (Castle) - just one of the many great moments of Castle. But it's always the scenes that I love and remember the best. I love their relationship, how they can tell each other anything. It's the perfect father/daughter relationship. I love that Castle is such a great father, but in his own way. I love how he actually doesn't treat her like a child, like most parents do. Hell I love absolutely everything about it!
I've only just started watching Castle, but I'm about half way through - it's a lot of fun to watch and I totally agree they have a great relationship
Dexter - when Dexter found out he was cheated and he had his emotional outburst. Wow, that was so hypnotizing to watch! Season 3 was great but for the most time it didn't live up to season 2 standards for me. That is definitely an exception. Dr. Horrible - does that count? I was so thrown by the death...
I feel I should add something from Lost. I haven't finished the season yet, I can't bring myself to do it, I am totally spoiled for everything. Must have been a bummer, though.
My disappointment is Dollhouse. Here, I said it. Alpha was great but I was very disappointed with this show overall. I really looked forward to it big time. Although to be honest, I wasn't thrilled that Eliza would lead and I am still not sold on that.
Enjoy your Sunday!
I quite enjoyed Dexter S3 (I think anything without Lila was a positive!); I know the moment you mean and it was awesome! Dr Horrible is a good choice, I wasn't expecting the death it was very sad, same goes for Kutner in House; I loved that episode, it did come out of the blue but I thought it was quite true that you never really know what's going in people's private lives.
I didn't mention Lost either actually but I really enjoyed this season; I know what you mean about not watching it after you've been spoiled for it though. As for DOllhouse I know what you mean, I was expecting amazing and got enjoyable, so it was a little bit of a letdown, still with Summer Glau maybe being in next season it might pick up! Awesome picks anyway
It's a nice screenshot Ela, I quite liked the episode with her in but you're right there's not so many girls in Supernatural, esp in the early seasons... Be nice to see your other supernatural icons, do you have a website or are you still just keeping them private? I tend to do that with my banners, make hundreds and only ever show off one or two!!
