I preordered Socom at Gamespot and that's how I got my beta if you're wondering why I'm playing a game that haven't came out yet. I had several people asking me about it when they saw me playing it. So anyway, here's my review / my experience while playing it.
First of all, I'm glad they kept the way have custom matches are set up. Which is basically set up into a lot of channels and in the channel people can create their own rooms and also have the ability to set any rules/maps or maps order/and others stuff. I think it's the best set up, a lot better than like Halo or Cod where you're just thrown into a random game with a random map. They also have the option of selecting the max player from 2-32. I personally like it at 16, 8v8. Anything higher is just too much.
The graphics was pretty good. I don't like how they have the over the shoulder third person look though, it's kinda like RE4. I think it was much better before when they just have a third person and the camera is behind him. I won't complain over this too much because they finally took away the vehicles, which was stupid in the previous few Socoms.
They also made it easier to kill people now, so you don't have to feel robbed anymore when you sprayed an entire mag at a guy's back, only to have him turn around and kill you with a few bullets. But that also mean less crazy gun fights where they're just circling each other for ages, if you're into that.
I only play one game so far but when I was playing it, I was killing a lot people and so the other team went after me. It was so ridiculous to the point that some guy was celebrating when he killed me. You can hear him go " YEAH I GOT HIM!!"![]()
But apart from that, I'm excited about the game. ![]()
P.S. sidenote: Yes, I'm playing Initial D Extreme Stage. And yes, it's a japanese import
