The title says it all. I still can't believe it. It all happened yesturday. Everything was going so right, so well. I already traded in 3 games so all i had to pay for my Limited Edition MGS4 was a measly 17.56$ for this beast of a game. I couldn't believe my eyes when i first lay my hands on the copy. It was so beautiful, yet wielded so much power within the package, for Snake was just inside the box. I left Ebgames so happy and excited that i couldn't even wait to go home. Sadly, i have exams and must study. I went to the library with 2 friends and i showed them my game, in the public. That was my 1st mistake. They were like " OMG, you have the limited edition!!! " I was so happy that i actually have something that was actually THAT worth it. We went in the library, and started studying. Everything was fine, just plain study. I put the game in my bag and left it on the floor, just right next to me. I put on so-so loud music and practiced some problems. Not more than an hour later, the library was closing. I pack my things, and my bag was no longer where i left it. At first i thought this was a joke that my two friends pulled on me because we do this all the time. So you know, i played along with them looking for my bag. The unusual thing, they looked worried. I continued looking until i asked the lost and found and my friends just look at me saying they can't find it. I really started to panic. I ran all around the library and finally i see my 2 friends talking to a librarian. The librarian was telling us how someone else got his school bag robbed today as well. The truth was unravelling itself until I discovered that my MGS 4 Limited Edition was really in fact in the hands of another being. I kept pleading to the security guards for viewing their security guard tapes, but they wouldn't allow me because it's highly confidential. I went to the nearest police station to file a report. I go in, and start fillng a report. I hand it in and began saying all sorts of things like how that game meant a lot to me. Then the cop said the following that truly broke my spirit: "Look kid, I'll tell you the truth before you really get upset. We are NOT going to help investigate in this case because this happens all the time. People get robbed all the time. You lost 100$ and i know that it means a lot to you, but it's just not enough to make us investigate. Your game is long gone. I'm sorry kid, but this is life." I left the police station heartbroken knowing that my game would never come back to me. MGS 4 was in my hands just several hours before. Now it's in the hands of another man. I feel so angry at myself for leaving such a precious item on the floor and not in my eye-sight. It may sound too ridiculous for the average-joe out there, for this is just a game and nothing more. "Dan, you have enough games. Give it a rest." What most people don't undestand is that i'm not just a gamer. I am a collector. I collect games with value, whether they are really limited in the world or simply a great game that's worth having. This game definitely suits this category. In fact, I have been waiting for this game since the day they announced it on gamespot and ign, which makes it more than 3-4 months ago. I saved up money for this. I sacrificed 3 games just so that i could afford this game because i just got into a debt. This game actually got my mind away from exams when i was studying. This game was .. Snake's final mission. I really hope that the thief enjoys this game and remember how he got it because he just ruined my last few days of my high school career. Congradulations, you stole to fulfill your entertainment while leaving the victim in depression and sadness. Finish Snake's last mission for me, because it's his last.

Man that is the worst thing that could happen. And it had to be that game, one of the best games ever. Jeez, I hope that guy (whoever it was) pays big time. Really sorry to hear that. My friend just got his XM robbed out of his car the other day, and that was well over $100 just for a year subscription.

Wow that sucks man. I'm sure it will come back to him eventually. I recently had someone come into my house and steal nothing but MY laptop and MY digital camera...and leave. And I'll probably never see either of those again so I know how you feel.

I feel for you man, as i have felt the pain too of losing something by another ones action. It really BS and i felt nothing but emptiness for a while then anger, hate, resent and calm because i hope they will feel how i felt that one day the dearest thing they love will be taken away from them. oh yea lesson learned always keep an eye on your stuff as i learn that from attending a high school filled with thieves.

Thanks a lot guys! Your comments made me feel a lot better and i got over this. I too felt empty during that week but i guess as time goes by, so does the pain. It's almost July so in case I'm not on Gamespot....
Happy Canada Day and USA day to all my fellow gamers!!
