Another week has passed uneventfully by, like a ship sliding silently through foggy waters, unnoticed by the dockhands working on the pier..

Well, that's about the extent of what my creative writing skills (or lack there-of) can produce at the present moment. Welcome to my 2nd weekly titular article. I'm not quite sure if writing is meant to be this way, but my efforts here are fraught with rephrasing and, often enough, complete rewrites. It's taken me about twenty minutes to get this far, for instance. Perhaps I'm trying too hard.

A month or so ago, I bought a copy of The Longest Journey (The Longest Journey on Gamespot) off Steam. I'd seen the game around before, and when I noticed it going cheap, I read a few reviews and decided I'd like to give it a go. Well, this week I finally got around to playing it. I've never been great at these sorts of games, but this far I'm finding it pretty enjoyable. I think the story has just started to get into gear, and I find myself wanting to play it more and more – the trouble however, is that the game has a puzzle type gameplay mechanic – you have to figure certain things out and make certain things happen before the story will progress. I find this frustrating as I just want to proceed with the story, and play the game more like I'm reading a book.

I've also been looking at Prototype. I haven't convinced myself to buy it yet, as I'm still in two minds about it. It's probably due to my disappointment in Spider-man3. I really enjoyed Spider-man2, I loved swinging down city streets, beating up henchmen and just generally being Spidey. This enjoyment didn't extend to Spider-man3 however. For some reason, I can't bring myself to enjoy it at all. I can't even tell the difference between them. I'm not sure I can bring myself to go out and spend $100 on a game that I MAY enjoy. Has anyone played it yet? How did you find it?

On the darker side of gaming, I find myself yearning to play WoW again. I haven't had urges like this for months, when all of a sudden yesterday afternoon I realise how much I actually want to play it. It's like an ache, like I'm missing something without it. This is horribly disturbing to me because I never really got into WoW in the first place. The highest level I ever got to was a Human Warrior which I got to 40-odd. Enough talk of WarCrack though, I'm going to have to drink a bottle of bourbon just to forget it as it is.

Speaking of Alcohol, my housemate and I went down to our local brew-on-premises and put down a brew. We're getting 6 cartons of 'home-made', preservative free Carona. That's correct, in a very un-Australian move I made a Mexican beer instead of a Crown or VB (urgh). As a special treat to all you beer drinkers out there, I'll post a picture of a bottle of it and let you know how it tastes.

I thought I'd finish with some photos of our 'Master Entertainment room'. I call it this because it's actually the master bedroom of this house stuffed full of comfy lounges and big tv. Enjoy.

Love the beer fridge in the TV cabinet I will totally have one in my room one day. And a microwave, I'll never have to leave the bedroom again!
