Jackie Coogan and Shirley Temple stand alone as the two childhood stars that captivated the American movie goer. Jackie had his Dutch-boy haircut, big brown eyes and appealing personality. After being cast as Charlie Chaplin’s sidekick, he was an overnight success. He credits this to the guidance and support from Charlie Chaplin. Unlike most childhood stars, Jackie held his own as a childhood actor and through his adult years. He had the ability to cry on cue or get you laughing with his hilarious antics. He was the first childhood star to achieve super stardom. His acting career made him the youngest self-made millionaire in history. Unfortunately his mother and step-father abuse his income. They kept his earnings for themselves. He fought back to make sure this would never happen to any child again. His fight gave rise to the "Coogan Law". This law still protects childhood stars. He was not only an excellent actor but a man of his convictions.

Childhood actors have a hard go of it. Ken Weatherwax has dealt with being a child acting in a healthy way. He was born on September 29, 1955. Ken got his start in show biz in early in the 1960s with Gleem Toothpaste commercials as a child called Chester. He had a brief, but memorable acting career. In fact, the only acting part he has had with Pugsley. He did such a good job on the original television series, that he received the roles in three versions of the series. In 1973 he was the voice of Pugsley in the 1973 animated version. In 1977 provided the voice of Pugsley again in "The All New Addams Family Halloween" cartoon special. Though Ken has always enjoyed Pugsley, he felt more comfortable behind the scenes. He has had a vocation as a grip for some long running televisions shows such as "The A-Team" and "Full House." It is not all childhood acts can move away from the lime light and make a successful life for themselves. It is of great credit to this man and his support systems that he has become personally successful with his life.

Felix Silla was born on January 11, 1937 in a small village outside Rome, Italy. He was only to grow to the height of 3 feet and 11 inches. When he was 10 years old, he started working as a circus performer. Inside of becoming a freak in the circus, he learned some talents that later set his career into action. While in the circus he learned to ride bareback. He was also trained as a trapeze artist and tumbler. Being in the circus he learned how to perform and act in front of a live audience. When he finally made it to Hollywood, he became a stunt man. He was not to limit his career there. It was not long before Hollywood realized how talented he was. His parts varied have varied from the maniacal, miniature Hitler who menaces George Segal in "The Black Bird" to the enduring and lovable Cousin Itt on the long-running TV series, "The Addams Family." He never allowed his size to type cast him or limit his performance. He has done stunt work in such memorable hits as "The Towering Inferno," "The Hindenberg," and "Battlestar Galactica." He is a talent musician with his own musical combo. When not doing movies, he can be seen in Las Vegas and Reno night clubs. His musical combo is called "The Original Harmonica Band.". Personally his life has been successful too. Felix and wife Susan, a "little person," has been happily married since 1965. They have two children, Bonnie and Michael. It is rare that one whom society would feel has a disability goes beyond that apparent disability to make a success for his life in all ways. From his list of credit, you can tell short or tall this man would have had a success life. His talents go beyond music, acting and stunts. He is a successful person is all aspects of his life.

Lisa had the chance not once but twice to make a good break into television. She was a talent little girl who had the oppertunity to work on one of the oldest soap opera's in the business. She had a good run for four years as Cricket on "As the World Turns." If she had good parenting, and supportive loving family, should would have had the patience to wait for her next part. Lisa first 34 years are sad with potential loss due to her mother's and her own drug problems. I am glad that she has pulled her life together today. I just selfish wish that she could have continued in television. I really enjoyed both her role of Wednesday and of Cricket.
