OMG OMG OMG!!!!!!!!!! I had a phone call late yesterday afternoon at work from a client who told me that her husband (a client & an accountant) had nominated me (in December) for a Rotary 'Pride of Workmanship' Award.....I did very well in the elimination process etc - and I WON!!!!!

Apparently every year the Rotary clubs in town (there's 7 all up) nominate employees who take pride in their work and who otherwise don't get any credit or recognition for their hard work - and obviously its a tough field & somehow I got through and won!

The Awards night is in March - so will have to come up with a great little acceptance speech before than....I think there's a trophy or something involved too!! SSQQQQUUUUUUUEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The news just totally made my day, week, month!!!!!

In other news....I can't believe its just under 3 weeks until I turn 25 geez.....a quarter of a century old.... I'm feeling old!! Was speaking to mum early last week & I'm going to have to wait till I visit them after Easter to get my birthday present/s.....am feeling a little un-loved....not that's the wrong word...lonely is better - coz its always been tradition that on my birthday mum comes into town and I take the day off work (or a couple hours) and we go have a luxury lunch together and a few drinks. But that can't happen now she's down in Tasmania.... don't get me wrong I'm thrilled that they've fulfilled their dream of moving down there and they're happy etc - its just that I'm feeling a little morose.

But it'll be okay - I'll shake it off and be just fine

Hugz to you all

YAY!!! Go YOU!!! It's awesome that you got a price!! I'm sure you deserved it!
About turning 25, it scares me too although I still have 10 months until my quarter of century birthday, but all my friends are starting to cellebrate their 25th birthdays... It's just another year, but it sounds more, right? It's like you are finally a grown up or something similar...
I'm sorry your mom can't come to visit you on your birhtday... make sure the cute guy takes you out that day!!
HUGE HUGS!!

OMG, that is amazing news for real, CONGRATULATIONS!! That’s such a fulfilling prize to get, I’m so very proud of you, you must feel like in heaven, it’s so big and so cool, squeeeeee I bet you will come up with something to say for that speech, it’s gonna be a great night, keep us posted!
LOL, hunnie numbers don’t mean much, our age is 50% in our spirit and in the way we face life. I know 80 something year old women who are way more active than me Awww, I’m sorry you feel lonely now that you can’t carry on with your nice bday tradition. But well, your parents moved down to Tasmania for good and that gives you the chance to travel a bit and know new places when you go visiting. Gotta think positive, I guess And hey, I know it’s not the same but you can always count on us here to celebrate And I know there’s a certain someone that will be happy to cheer you up as well
Huge huge hugs! Love you too
