I figured I should do another entry to celebrate my two year anniversary on tv.com, and the fact that today is my 21st birthday. I didn't get many presents because I didn't ask for many, but one thing I did get was a voucher for this

It's quite possibly the hardest thing I've ever done. When I rang them to ask what clothing I should wear, the guy on the phone goes, 'well you might wanna bring another shirt, and a towel...better make it two actually!' He was absolutely right. It was exhausting and the further up the wall you get the closer you get to the fan that keeps the whole wall frozen, and man is that thing loud. It was awesome fun, but I'm now exhausted. I was supposed to be going out for dinner with my family and friends but we've all decided that because many of us are now knackered because some of us did the ice climb, everyone is just coming round here and we're devouring a ridiculously large amount of chinese food.
I'm off to go eat dinner and the max out on chocolate cake! Have a good evening.
Chris.
This is a long one, but as it's been about four months since the last entry I thought it was excuseable.
It's been three years, some of which has been awesome and some of which...hasn't, but my degree is finally over. My results come out in a few weeks, but I've told my family that results don't come out for just shy of two months because it gives me a chance to try and get some work experience and/or a job in case my results don't go as planned.
I had four exams this year because I had about 12 essays during the course of the year. The first exam was Greek Comedy, and it could have gone either way, I think I passed, but at the same time it was far from brilliant. Roman Empire came second, which was much better, or at least I think it went better. This is kind of helpful because it's worth a substantial amount of this year's work. Latin Letters was on the Monday just gone, and one section of the exam was horrific, think plane crash meets nuclear explosion, but I'd like to think that my essay in the final section made up for it. I guess I'll have to see on that one!
And the final exam was yesterday; Mediterranean World. This was the one that I was most worried about because it was worth as much as Roman Empire, but as it is the final exam it meant that any problems in earlier exams had to be rectified in this one, and to be honest I know my Roman Empire better than my Mediterranean World. Surprisingly, I felt it went brilliantly. All of my exams were 3 and a half hours long, and needless to say my hands hurt a little afterwards. But it's over now. Just in time for my 21st birthday actually. The 29th is the big day, about 4 days after my two-year anniversary on tv.com.
And now that my degree is over it's time to catch up with friends and several books and DVDs I have not had a chance to get through. Here's an idea of just how many books I have got my hands on over the last year and not yet read. I didn't buy them all, many have been presents, but I'll admit most have been when I've seen them on ridiculously good offers and picked them up to read at a later date. The academic ones are books I read bits of during my degree but never got to finish, which actually happened in just about every academic book, but these books were actually interesting. You might notice the...erm... dominance of Pratchett books in this picture, that goes for my bookcase as well. I'm sure I've got nearly all of his Discworld books. The Conan book is technically speaking a birthday present for me, but as my mum hasn't paid me back for it, I found it on sale for 75% off so I bought it, I'm counting it as something for me to read. It's a thousand pages anyway so it's not like I'll finish it before my birthday. The water bottles are because I drink a lot when I'm out.
I treated myself to a few dvds as well to celebrate the end of 17 years of back-to-back education. I picked up NCIS season 4 which should arrive tomorrow, Eureka season 2 which won't arrive for about 4 months, I've already got one of the Futurama movies from ages ago and I have ordered the next, and the same goes for Stargate: Ark of Truth and Stargate Continuum.
So, at the moment it's not bad to be me, they're the first things I've bought besides new shoes in almost a year. My room's a tip so I should probably clean it up, but I've already got paid work for the next month so at least I'll have some money coming in while I work out what I'm going to do with the rest of my life.
Anyone got any ideas!? As that's more than enough about me, how have you guys been since January?
Chris.
I was going to bore you with my week, but then I decided to check out an idea I had during a lecture yesterday. My lecture was boring as hell so my mind wandered, and I wondered what would happen if you crossed a british beagle and a pug. It was just a random spur of the moment idea, because I thought the dog would look odd with a Pug's huge round eyes, and a Beagle's ears, and a 'colour scheme' halfway between the two. It turns out the combination exists, and is called a Puggle.
How cool is that? Not only did I have an idea that someone else actually had, but the dog just looks awesome. I want one as much as I want a British Beagle and a Pug, and that's a lot.
So how are you doing?
