You love me, you really love me. . . I am sure that someone else has had to have done that line. I must apologize, but I really couldn't help myself. I figured that you had to be around here for quite awhile before being featured. Its cool.

So, I thought that I would share a little more about myself for this blog. Just some random things-

1) I have had surgery several times- the big ones and the small.

2) I used to write poetry. I am writing a novel- just can't seem to finish it.

3) I was Teacher of the Year in my school in 2006.

4) I was formerly a Paralegal/Legal Assistant.

5) I cheated on my religion tests in high school.

6) I once posed for Penthouse Magazine. Just kidding

7) I have an alias.

I love to travel. My dream is to go to New Zealand.

9) I smile all of the time.

10) I have very deep thoughts. I love to analyze everything.

Most of you here know a lot of the other stuff about me. I am an open book. There are things that I keep to myself of course, we all do. But, I love to share.

Next blog will continue the 80's. It will feature the ladies of the early 80's. Look out Mrs. Garrett!

Oh, and I forgot GO EAGLES!!!!!!!!

Congrats ascaffo! Don't you think cheating on religion tests is somewhat...contradictary? Still, awesome facts and a great achievement!

A big congratualtions on the spotlight. I hope that you are able to finish the book soon. Take Care.
Posted Jan 16, 2009 1:14 pm PT
Yes, Al. It was very bad of me. I figured that it was something that people would find shocking and surprising. However, I have this thing about authority- and I thought that it was nuts that we had to memorize all of the things that we did. There were so many- and I didn't see the point. Being able to memorize or not, had nothing to do with being a christian. . .

Congrats Anne! You just put in #6 to see if we were paying attention didn't you. LOL

Very good, Anne. You have the required Community Spotlight blog. Now Gabriella can't pick on you! That's a running joke from when I was in Spotlight back in October. I loved the facts, although #5 is a shocker. So, what's yuor alias?

GO EALGES!!!!
Posted Jan 17, 2009 10:24 pm PT
Congrats on your Community SPOTLIGHT!! Nothing wrong quoting Sally Field.
Posted Jan 18, 2009 5:45 am PT
Couldn't happen to a nicer person. You deserve it. You cheated in religion class. Love that one!
Posted Jan 18, 2009 2:52 pm PT
Congrats Anne *happy dance*

Ditto on the congratulations! Better use some of this, though. That spotlight can get spit-hot!

Now lets fine-tooth that list of yours:

1) "I have had surgery several times- the big ones and the small." YIKES, no "plastic," I hope. And if you're contemplating it, forget it-- we like you, we really like you just the way you are!

2) "I used to write poetry." Please post some? I bet even your itty ditties are good! "I am writing a novel- just can't seem to finish it." God, I hope you're not calling it The Neverending Story, 'cause that title's taken already. Seriously, what's the novel about? I just know you're going to be published-- in fact you have been already: see statement #6.

3) "I was Teacher of the Year in my school in 2006." What a wonderful title to have had bestowed on you! (I hope a tiara was part of the package. Diamond-studded head gear is the only way to fly.) I guess we're not the only ones who like you, really like you! You do us proud, ascaffo, you do us proud!

4) "I was formerly a Paralegal/Legal Assistant." Wow, now there's a tough job to have under your belt-- I'm impressed! Are there any kooky court stories you'd care to share?

5) "I cheated on my religion tests in high school." Impossible. I went to a Catholic grade school, so I know first hand that if you cheated on catechism exams, a bolt of lightning would have immediately been hurled your way, leaving you to look like a spent match with arms and legs for the rest of your days. Hmm... But if you did survive the bolt, it would have been a miracle, and you would have been declared a saint. ***grabs copy of The Book of Saints and thumbs through the "A" chapter, looking for Saint Ascaffo***

6) "I once posed for Penthouse Magazine. Just kidding." Penthouse, eh? So does that make you a girl next door to The Girls Next Door? I'm thinking a solid "yes."

7) "I have an alias." Hmm. Is the word "saint" invovled?

8 ) "I love to travel. My dream is to go to New Zealand." I do hope your travel dream comes true. Incidently (actually, coincidentally), I've always wanted to visit New Zealand, too! But with the state of the economy, the only place we can count on going in the near future is "crazy."

9) "I smile all of the time." We know, we can feel it! P.S. Thanks for the warmth ever-springing from your inner cockles!

10) I have very deep thoughts. I love to analyze everything." Maybe that's why we get on so well together: it's that Jack Handey in you!

WHEW! That was looong! (but fun!)

Poetry is something that I only did the basics with Angelwomyn. It was heartfelt though
Posted Jan 20, 2009 7:47 am PT
Thanks again, Gabriella. It is about a family and the child is ill. How they deal, etc. I also have another that I started about a child abduction.
Posted Jan 20, 2009 7:49 am PT
tj- I love that line. It is a classic.
Posted Jan 20, 2009 7:50 am PT
thanks Pika and Captain. I appreciate it.
Posted Jan 20, 2009 7:51 am PT
Hey, twopratt. Thanks, I seemed to have missed ya. Sorry about that.
Posted Jan 20, 2009 7:53 am PT
Buskie- you can name drop all that you like. TLOTR was awesome!! I first fell in love with New Zealand with Herc and Xena.
Posted Jan 20, 2009 7:54 am PT
Thanks Minarvia and Jeric-ho!! It was a surprise for me.

Hi Karl. I didn't want to do the spotlight blog. I didn't want to just write for the sake of writing. So, I came up with the list. Yes, #5 was not a bright spot in my past.

My alias is: Ame. It is from the initials of my first, middle and maiden names. That is what I was called by everyone until I was about 24.
Posted Jan 20, 2009 8:00 am PT
Thanks April
Posted Jan 20, 2009 8:00 am PT
Thanks Tommy I debated about #5. I wanted something that would be unexpected. I am sure it put some people off (and make others laugh)- but, I am very spiritual and full of common sense. So, I can live with myself.
Posted Jan 20, 2009 8:05 am PT
Thanks Rachel. I have my dancing shoes on.
Posted Jan 20, 2009 8:08 am PT
1) Nope, no plastic. Not interesting. YIKES, no "plastic," I hope. And if you're contemplating it, forget it-- we like you, we really like you just the way you are!

2) (Poetry) I would love to post it- if I could find it. Please post some? I bet even your itty ditties are good! (NOVEL)lol. No, not that story. Actually, I have two. One is about an abduction and the way it impacts the parents and the other is about a child who is terminally ill- and the effects on the parents.

3) Nope, no tiara I did get $500.00 to spend for things for my ****though

4)It was a fun job- but I would never have been able to be the mommy that I wanted to be if I had stayed in that career. It took a lot of my time.

5) Its true I just resented that I had to memorize all of the things that I did. I didn't see how it helped me to be a better christian. I didn't plan to cheat. The opportunity just kinda presented itself. I am not sure what happened to the lightening bolt though. I guess it was a miracle . . . No saint. My father played St. Francis once though.

6) If I had posed- I think people would have asked for their money back.

7) Alias- ame. Its my initials.

8 ) Maybe we could meet in New Zealand. If not, perhaps we could take a virtual tour together.

9) Awww.

10) Perhaps you have a point there.

Wow, Sparkle, you get the prize for the most thoughtful comment. I am thinking that you should have the diamond studded tiara. So, here it is ***hands Sparkle said tiara. ***

Congrats on getting into the Spotlight! And you don't have to be here for a long time to be featured. I think getting the spotlight is random.
