Yep. My PS2 stopped reading discs again, so I went and took it apart to try to fix it again like I did that last time, and I must've pulled too hard or something, the ribbon tore on the inside and it was just, a mess after that. Dad told me to look at the price of a Slim on Amazon for brand new, picked one and we ordered it. So, at least I get to start fresh with something better

I've also been getting stuff in the mail I ordered. Got 4 shirts, my Super Mario Bros. 3 hoodie and Mega Man 8 today. There's only 4 more things I'm waiting for: FF7, Tomb Raider III, NES poster and Gears of War shirt. Everything else, I have. Lovin' everything, it just sucks I can't play my PS1/PS2 games I bought right now.. Ah well, I will soon. Until then!

Your lucky. I like the PS3 slim better then the old one, its so big. You should get infamous and Uncharted first those games rock. Awesome choice on the hoodies I am going to look into it, I love Super mario!!!!!!!!!!!

LMAO, when I was trying to fix my fat ps2 I did that same thing and disconnected that ribbon, You can reconnect it though so don't throw your old ps2 out yet. You could still keep it as a back up and get a hard drive for it to play game backups. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HdMgd0y3DIg&feature=player_profilepage

that is the tutorial that I used.

@BlazikenTails64: After paying $50 for it, sorry, don't think so xD

@Spade_Crisis: Thanks! Dad says to think of it as an early Christmas gift,so that's awesome

@Cubano7649: Oh, I'm not getting a PS3, I'm getting a PS2 Slim. Yeah, love the hoodie, it's perfect for me, my favorite game.

@lazyhoboguy: Thanks a ton, though I'd rather just go new this time, if you have to take apart the console twice to fix it up, I think that's a sign it's time for something new.

Yea, I mean keep the fat ps2 for the long-term future. Eventually once new ps2's are no longer made all of them are going to start breaking down since they have all those moving parts. If you have a fat ps2, you can at least buy a hard drive for it and backup all your ps2 games onto it and play them still.

Nice one! Enjoy

@lazyhoboguy: Yeah. Sucks though, because PS2 is only one of two consoles I ever had to replace. SNES was the other.

@SadPSPAddict: I'm sure I will, thanks!

Getting a new console is so much fun! Enjoy!

@MJoanne: Not really so much getting a new console as I am just replacing an old one with a better and smaller version, but still, I'm excited nonetheless. I know I'll enjoy it

PS2 slim is much better than the original. And best of all, the newest model does not need the big clunky converter It's built into the system.

@rizalariff: You bet I'm keeping it alive, just like I keep the NES and Atari gaming alive

@cookie_on_fire: Then I'm very glad the money shan't go to waste.

I would die if my PS2 broke.

@MistressMinako: I was pretty pissed off myself. Luckily my dad was willing to get me an early Christmas present. I was so happy.

My PS2 slim broke twice. First it destroyed the disc by making deep scratches in them, so I returned it to the store and got another one from the guarantee. A few months later, the controllers stopped vibrating. After that I decided to buy the older model, and it still works!

@PSX-man: This looks like it might be the opposite case on my end. Haha. No luck with the phats with me but I might have some with the Slim.
