Bond 22 Less Serious, More Comedic

I've been a Bond fan since I can remember, but I sort of fell out of love with the series after Goldeneye. Pierce Brosnan was a terrific Bond, but the craptastic puns and unbelievable relationships were too much to bear. I had all but given up on the long-running series until Daniel Craig came along and brought more to the character of Bond than any actor before him. Casino Royale reinvigorated the series and instead of running with it, the powers that be want to return Bond to his joke-slinging, whore-kissing ways. No thanks.

Josh Flitter Cast as Lead in Ace Ventura 3

Good Lord! There is no possible way this movie could be good. Who approved such a thing? Ace Ventura was a tired character by the end of the first movie. As a young teenager at the time of the original releases I was surrounded by prepubescent peers constantly spouting lines from the movie as if they were in fact the son of Ace--sorry guys, turns out Josh Flitter is. I can't imagine who would find this movie amusing. I have yet to meet a person that still likes the Ace Ventura movies. Sure, you might have some fond memories, but have you watched them lately? Next time TBS is obnoxiously running them back to back to back to back, watch them. If you aren't clawing for the remote in 15 minutes or less, congratulations, I hope you enjoy Ace 3.

Bad news usually comes in threes, and the day is far from over. I wouldn't be surprised to see that Uwe Boll has been let out of his cage to slaughter another video game series. Or maybe we'll find that another beloved franchise/tv show/cartoon is going to be destroyed by money hungry Hollywood execs ("Coming to theaters this winter, Jimmy Fallon is Captain Planet!"). Bad day for movie fans.

A handful of lighter moments in the next Bond film wouldn't hurt. However, those moments should not be anything that could be categorized as comedic. IMHO

i agree about the Bond flicks. Goldeneye was the last i thought that was decent. i saw some originals back in the day but...don't remember much 'bout them except they were good.
Don't even want to think about A V 3 without Jim Carey in it!!!He made those movies. Not like Bond. Where it was the character not the person who did the role, though i believe there is no equal to Connery (Brosnan is a close 2nd, mind you). It is, to me, that Carey made the Ace Ventura flix what they were. In the 2nd you can tell it was time to let it go.
i actually had trepidations 'bout Transformers. Glad it lived up to the hype

What, didn't they think Casino Royale did well enough to merit another script along those lines? Though I admit I'm a fan of the old Bond flicks, I'm not above seeing something fresh brought to the table. Wonder if too many people complained....

Ace Ventura....it is sort of surprising that Carey isn't doing the role, but it's not like I'd watch it anyway.

And number three? I just had a horrible mental image of a new Home Alone with Macauley Culkin playing the dad that forgets his kid..."Son Of Home Alone"....*urk*

How could anyone have complained about Casino Royale? Definitely the best Bond movie in many years... I hope they stick to the new formula and just inject a little more humor... I like the more serious, butt-kicking version better than Moore's Bond.

Peldon: Yeah some lighter moments might be nice, but you're right, nothing should be classified as comedic.

Spooks: Of course they can't do Ace without Jim Carrey. His movies are tailor made to fit him, throw anyone else in a Carrey vehicle and they'll crash and burn.

Neko: Unfortunately I've seen first hand what they've done to the Home Alone series. I was forced to watch the 5th movie (yeah they did that many) and it was terrible. You'd think this kid would be famous among thieves by now. I mean how many times is he going to turn a house into a fun house?

polsci: I like the more serious Bond too. It was nice to actually see Bond hustle for once. He did more running in Casino Royale than all the previous movies put together, all without uttering a single pun.
