I know this is weird. I'm writing in this blog, to announce that I'm writing in another blog, but I thought I'd extend the invitation for anyone that wanted to read it. I have the privacy settings up so that you can't search for me (even though I change names and locations, I don't want student's or my boss reading it), so if you want to check it out let me know. A few weeks ago I wrote about getting a new graphic tablet for my computer and said that I was thinking about doing a web comic. Well I decided to do one about myself and my adventures in being the youngest professor at the university. The comic's will be accompanying my weekly (or more) blog posts on blogspot. I thought I might post them here too. So enjoy.

"Don't staaaand, don't stand so, don't stand so close to me"

Ever read that book by Nabokov?

AWW I'm just teasing you. But seriously, no normal man can ignore beautiful young women, you just have to learn to cope with it. Heh.

I'd love to see your other blog, both because I enjoy your writing immensely and I'd like to see more your your comic! Funny how we can interpret our workplaces into a comic strip....one of my best friends has an on-running one in his head. He mentions the latest scenario to me about every week, and I think he's dropping hints for me to draw it. Personally I think of my department as a tabletop book of Dilbert.

Speaking of (or drawing of) the opposite sex, I'm going to go see Harry Potter in a few hours sans husband, and with the aforementioned co-worker, who happens to be half my age. The story behind that being thus: Pete doesn't care for Potter while "Will" and I are big fans, and so, we'll go during the day showing (on an odd note, our company printed three of the Potter books - one of over 17 companies contracted to run 2 million copies apiece. We even got freebie hardcover copies...sweet!). I'll probably get mistaken for his mother . Contrary to common lore and Desperate Housewives, I can't say any romantic notions are involved - frankly the thought of getting entangled with someone who was probably still wearing diapers when I was going to frat parties is a little, well, *urk*. Not exactly the same situation as your comic, but still awkward.

That's ok Neko, my spouse doesn't care for Harry either. Which is tragic, because she's really missing out on all the awesome wizarding action. I'm more a fan of the books than movies, so I probably won't get around to seeing the film for another few weeks (at least till after I read book seven), let me know what you think.

And the comic is just the beginning of the awkwardness. My brother, who works as a recruiter for the university, recently had a 72-year-old woman enroll as a freshman! If she ends up being my student it's going to be a hilarious semester.
