Two months into the new season and all the writers go on strike!! WTF mate! Over two months has passed since the strike began and the light is appearing at the end of the tunnel. It appears that our dreaded season of reruns and reality TV may soon be over. I think I'm not alone in saying: THANK GOD!!!! Since the TV season seems to be picking itself back up from off the floor, I thought I'd recap the season so far. Gossip Girl has surprisingly become a guilty pleasure of mine, it really is the new OC. In fact, this season has been pretty good for new shows. Chuck is absolutely wonderful, the perfect mix of action and humor. Zachary Levi has brought a whole new level to Geek love and is simply charming as Chuck. Moonlight is an extremely underrated show. It is well-written and well-acted. Even though critics have stated it is simply a cheap copy of Angel, as an Angel fan I too thought so at first, it has its own style and is quite charming (plus Alex O'Loughlin is H-O-T). Pushing Daisies! What can I say? It is even better than I dreamed. It is definitely the breakout new series. It is absolutely and positively amazing! If you aren't watching this now, please take the time that the strike has given us and WATCH THIS SHOW! It is not only original (something rare in Hollywood), but well-written, well-acted, witty, and HILARIOUS! Lee Pace and Anna Friel are extremely adorable as Ned and Chuck.
On to old favorites. I've rediscovered One Tree Hill this season. The quality of the show waned a little last season but this new "four years later" concept has refreshened the show. As usual, Sophia Bush has continued to amaze and entertain as the wonderful and tough Brooke Davis. I love her! As for Smallville, the show has gone back and forth this season. Clark met Kara, Lois continued to be awesomely witty, while Lana continued to be whiny and uninteresting. And she is STILL keeping him from his destiny. On a positive note, I liked seeing Lana's dark side. If they continue that road, there's hope for her character yet. Heroes took some interesting turns. It started out in a disappointing direction but by season's end, I think they redeemed themselves a little. Meanwhile, Grey's has hit a new low. JUST LET MERDER BE HAPPY ALREADY! ENOUGH WITH ON-AGAIN OFF-AGAIN CRAP! On to House. The newbies haven't been all that impressive, and too many characters has caused a lack of screen time for all (I miss Wilson and the old ducklings). But I have faith in the writers. Scrubs continues to be AMAZINGLY FUNNY (LMAO). Guy Love anyone? Oh, and I have discovered Dexter! How did I miss this!?! A very funny, very cool, very original show that deserves all admiration. All other shows should be jealous (except The X-Files). On another note, Bones continues to rule all. This show needs to be watched by more people! Come on girls, David Boreanaz is SEXY HOT! I've never wanted to be in trouble with the FBI more!
And also, LOST IS BACK!!! Can I hear an AMEN!?! It is looking good (well not for the Losties but for us). So... until we meet again, peace out for now and happy watching. Oh, and "ding dong the strike is dead. Which old strike? The wicked strike. Ding dong the wicked strike is dead!"
