As I type this, a family member is in the other room. My brother is at the door talking to Jehova's Witnesses. They gave us this little panphlet about doing better in marriage, with children, etc. I'm just glad that I convinced my brother to answer the door, I told him it was UPS .This is the second time this month they've been here >_> . I don't have anything against their religion, but I love my peace and quiet at my house and I don't really like door-to-door preaching. Does anyone know how to deal with this? Crazy answers are accepted

My mom's a Jehovah's Witness, and she does field service (door to door preaching). I wouldn't do field service at all when I was younger just from the fact that I do'nt like bothering people. I've had lots of friends who said they got interrupted by them at incovenient times of the day, like dinner or something. Anyway, the best way to go about it is to politely thank them for their time and to ask that they please write down this address as a Do Not Visit and post the address at their congregation. They should respect your request and hopefully never bother you again.

I would just quickly say (without leaving them room for a polite answer that might make me linger on) that "I am sorry, but I am not interested thank you very much, bye" and close the door with a smile.

I think JustPlainLucas summed it up nicely. Just remember to be polite, they probably get alot of rude people every day and you don't need to be one of them.

In Belgium the always start to hook you; like draw you in with something à-la "you know why X is wrong in this world? why things are getting worse? etc.". If you want them to leave quickly the skill is to not get drawn in by the question & ask them politely to leave [like a few above already said].

My dad always tell them to leave [usually pretty rude cause sometimes they knock at 5am ] and they just kept coming back (probably because the Lord's Work still had to be done)... I happened to open the door 6 months ago and ended up in a deep discussion/conversation about the Apocalypse & the Second Coming of Christ, sometimes beating them in quoting a certain passage (they even wondered where I got my knowledge - just 12y Catholic school ). At the end they gave me some directions if I wanted to learn more anyway; I said that they were "outside the Church" and that, though we share the same Christian belief, I had no further interest. We haven't seen 'em since

Haha, nice tricking your brother with saying it was UPS.
