I've been struck by an ear infaction and so I'm homebound. Now, this might not be coincidentally in the same week as premiere week and so I'm forced, by the laws of television addicts all over the world, to watch and shortly review every single premiere that airs this month. I'm still in the middle, so I'm starting with last week's outings. Ready...set....vay!

4,5 The Beautiful Life: 1.01 Pilot
More standard then this it can't get; fashion, pop-culture and skinny, pretty people. The CW in short. But like many shows of this network, there are people behind it with heart that manage to creep through the network's plane message and deliver some true storytelling. Agree; this show is dead already and has no true quality, but some of the characters are somewhat charming, and Mischa Barton's storyline was actually pretty good. But I will never forgive Miss. Barton for what she did to Marissa and so this show is more dead and gone then all the other show's The CW killed before their time.
Overall judgement: It was alright at some points, but nothing on TV is more shallow then this

5,0 Community: 1.01 Pilot
Forgive me, but the only reason this new show is so low is because EVERYTHING funny was already in the show's trailer. I know, it's not really their fault, but it did ruin my first experience with the show. Every single joke, I already knew from that darn trailer and what remains was a simple game of connecting the dots. How all the bits in the trailer make up for one episode, regretably. But I am sure this is not the show's future. The jokes, back in june, were really funny and I have hopes that next week it will continue to be so. But for now, this episode bored me to death.
Overall judgement: Do not watch trailers of comedy series/movies, all the funny stuff is in there, and it kills your viewingtainment.

5,5 The Office: 6.01 Gossip
THE OFFICE is mildly funny, but never on a level that I could truely enjoy it. Pam and Jim are the only ones I could watch week in and week out, because Steve Carell is certainly not doing it for me. It's just never funny enough. Saw and skip.
Overall judgement: Not for me.

5,5 The Vampire Diairies: 1.01 Pilot
Anything that is simply a cheap rip-off success has me hating, but once again, The CW hits my weak points by a surprisingly entertaining episode that is a good introduction to the show's characters and holds some nice twists throughout the episode. The best part was the ending, which has multiple open endings (one of those weak points of mine) that keeps you wanting more, but the overall storyline of vampire being weak for a human is completely overdone and old, leaving you wondering what this story adds to anything.
Overall judgement: It was entertaining, and the ending was good, but there's nothing new under the moon here.

5,8 Supernatural: 5.01 Sympathy For The Devil
I don't know what it is that makes me dislike SUPERNATURAL so much. I've tried to watch this show and it just doesn't work. I don't know why, but the demons and stuff are just better when it's a hot girl kicking some buttocks, then when it's Rory's boyfriend and the killer from My Bloody Valentine (I didn't ruin the plot for you did I?). Nothing special here either, it's the end of the world and they are going to save it. Yeah, in the meantime you can find me rewatching some CHARMED episodes.
Overall judgement: For it's supposed final year, the premiere was nothing to write home about or to convince you the final part of it's story is something you should not miss. 6,0 Fringe: 2.01 A New Day In The Old Town
I'm not sure what to think of this. FRINGE is definately strange. My first experience with this out of the ordinary drama was exactly that; strange. I'm not sure what the overall story was here, or where the show is going. I kinda liked all the little twists and clues in the episode, but the whole weird happenings thing is just not for me. I expected more from this, but I guess this works better as a season-long story then in one episode where everything is clear.
Overall judgement: Not bad, but what I should think of it remains unknown.

6,0 One Tree Hill: 7.01 4:30 AM (Apparently They Were Travelling Abroad)
Having one vital castmember leave is enough for me to completely abandone any show I love (CSI, THE O.C.), but if any show can pull it off, it's ONE TREE HILL, because at it's core, there remain honest, good and hardworking people that you've loved for six years and Hilarie Burton made us promise to keep watching, so I did. The result is nothing insulting, but it looks like the show has bleed out and has nothing more to say. Which is sad, but in these times you should never complain for one of your favorite shows still being on the air. But it does leave you wondering what the heck they are going to do with these characters if the show keeps continueing.
Overall judgement: Long past it's glory, but the second episode proves there is still some life left in Tree Hill.

6,5 Bones: 5.01 Harbingers In The Fountain
A pretty standard BONES episode, but not less entertaining. The chemistry between Boreaz and
Deschanel drives anyone nuts and any case with Cindy Lauper as a guest star is interesting enough to hold your attention. Nonetheless, the show remains exactly the same as it was five years ago, and though that's very pleasant for fans, for someone like me it's mostly checking in on something that will never change, hoping it will get better. Overall judgement: Midly entertaining, but Bones' social awkwardness and the show's light-heartedness add points. 6,7 Melrose Place: 1.01 Pilot
I never knew the original show, and so it was a whole lot easier to adapt to this one. I'm a sucker for season-long murder mysteries (thank you, Veronica) and this one looks juicy. The storylines of a intern paying for med-school by whoring herself out is original and very dirty, Ella is genius as an all-in-one agent Ashlee wasn't half bad.
Overall judgement: This could turn into my next guilty pleasure, but it still has some work to do

7,0 Parks & Recreation: 2.01 Pawnee Zoo
Amy Poehler is hilarious. She's so awkward and socially messed up, it's one of the funniest show's on TV. True, the gay pinguins were hilarious, but it resulting in Leslie being hailed by the gay community was more gross then it was entertaining (no offense intended). Luckily Chris Pratt was officially added to the cast and the premiere's opening scene had me laughing longer then the episode lasted. Overall judgement: I cannot wait to see this every week and laugh my behind off.

7,3 Gossip Girl: 3.01 Reversals Of Fortune
Season two of this heavy addictive show was the best of the 2008-2009 season, so there were high hopes for the season premiere. Sadly, nothing really dramatic or shocking went down, and Gossip Girl herself didn't seem to have much to report either. But the small Romeo & Juliet story Nate has going on with the newby, and the crazy relationship Chuck and Blaire have are good enough to tune in for many weeks to come, also, Vanessa dressed as an indian was very entertaining, and almost distracted me from Dan becoming a rich boy! But this weeks real topper was Serena and Carter, could the show have found it's next Chair?
Overall judgement: Down compared to what we're used to, but enough promise for the future. I'm positive the Upper East Siders and their voice-over will survive college just fine.

7,5 90210: 2.01 To New Beginnings
You can hate me for loving this so much, but the redefinition to this show is working so well, I can't help it. Annie's downfall is already one of the best storylines this season and the whole new vibe is just great. I already wrote a review on this so if you want to hear more glorifying of this teenage drama (I doubt it) you can check there. In the meantime:
Overall judgement: The show's new take is very succesful, filled with great new storylines and amazing character development. Love it, just don't let anybody hear you..

So, those were the premieres from September 8th - September 17th. I'm finishing House right now, so expect most of this week's premieres to be reviewed tonight, perhaps tomorrow.
