Yeah, it's the way things work. I once got a kick in the pants for suggesting that someone stop bullying someone else. I wasn't particularly rude about it, at least I didn't think I was being rude, but apparently Gamespot did, because I found myself temporarily barred from posting.

That really got up my arse. It's rediculous that someone should be punished for trying to put a stop to a bully's BS. Of course I could've simply reported the post and left it at that, but there's something about bullies, just like idiot fanboys, that compells me to put them in thier place. Again, I wasn't rude about it, so what's the big deal? The kicker, is that I came back and checked the thread, curious as to whether or not the bully got the same treatment. Not only had he not, but he had continued to engage in bully tactics, and had gained a few fanboys somewhere along the way. It was really sickening to not only see that sort of behaviour go unpunished, but that people were actually encouraging it. Meh.

It happens, more and more forums and websites are becoming cesspools of ignorance, and instead of alarming people it's simply encouraging the behaviour.
