I've never really been compelled to write anything here before but today I am.

To start things off; the board I'm most active on TV.com is the Doctor Who forum. Recently the editor for it had to move house or something along those lines and one spammer in particular came out of the woodwork.

Some new member has come on and posted in countless old topics which haven't been posted in since 2006. All of his/her posts involved bringing back one of the main characters who chose to leave the show last season. Not only did this person go back countless pages to find everything related to that character and post in them, but also suggested bring her back in a couple topics about the actress who replaced her.

OKAY, WE GET IT! You want her back, what do you expect us to do about it? Stop spamming the boards!

Get over it, actors and actresses have lives and careers that they wish to get on with and try new things. Everyone moves on, its human nature.

So please, stop it. If you wish go create a website or a fan club for that actress or start a hopeless petition but don't mess around with the boards here on TV.com, other people use them too.

Also, Islander is back so I think we need some applause.

HeHehe! Unfortunately there's no statute of limitation on forum boards; some academics are promoting the idea that the internet should "learn to forget", and there's certainly an argument that some forum boards could be closed to new comments or pensioned off. I got caught out like that myself, when someone resurrected an old thread and I posted in it without noticing.

Frustrating isn't it? Yes I liked her too, but she's gone, that is in fact the nature of Doctor Who, change and renewal. So glad Islander is back.
