I can see now that a user hit level 27, while I'm still on 5. So, how can be higher levels more useful? And more importantly, how to gain higher levels? Please, gamers, I need your help!

yes that is true. basicly any thing you do on gamespot will raise your level but his question was is there any benefeits to being higher lvl. And that i do not know and i was trying to find out myself

There's no particular benefit. its justa gamespot way of keeping people online for a longer time really. a higher level gives some benefits like u can form ur own union and a few more stuff but for that u only need a level 7 ithink.
levelling up is really kinda showing off that u're a serious poster and stuff.

Each review, or rating.
Downloading.
Reading news.
Watching videos.
Adding games you your collection, tracking, wish list, and now playing.
Adding friends to your friends list.
Minutes online.
