Well I recently celebrated my 18th birthday and with the inevitable cash haul that followed I decided to expand my JRPG library.. via ebay of course. 200 dollars later I'm now waiting for the following games in the mail..
Shin Megami Tensei: Digital Devil Saga 1
Shin Megami Tensei: Digital Devil Saga 2
Shin Megami Tensei: Nocturne
Disgaea: Hour of Darkness
Disgaea 2: Cursed Memories
also
Zone of the Enders 2: The Second Runner
Starcraft 64
and
Elfen Lied the complete collection on DVD

Not a bad haul..

In other news, I finally got around to seeing Tropic Thunder yesterday, It was utterly ridiculous, probably my favorite comedy of the year (although i still gotta see Pineapple Express, Step Brothers, and The Rocker.) Idk why, but this group of people (lame people) are trying to get the movie pulled because Ben Stillers charater did this movie in the movie called "Simple Jack" where he plays a mentally handicapped farm boy which gets referenced quite a bit.. I thought it was hilarious and will probably see it again once it hits the cheap theatres...

Well it took long enough, after getting sent back to level 27 over and over again via moderation i finally lurked long enough to make it to level 29

Like many people i bought Soul Calibur IV on the 29th, with Soul Calibur II being my favorite game of all time this buy was an obvious one for me.. although i hated Soul Calibur 3, so much so in fact that I only played it for maybe 8 hours total (just shy of my 200 hours on SC2 (PS2 and GC versions) ), so far i've only had about 3 hours with SCIV, and as much as i absouletely loath how cheap the Apprentice and Vader are I could easilly say its not worse than Soul Calibur 2 so far, not better, but definitly not worse.. I don't get what the end boss for arcade mode is supposed to be, and would much have rathered just fought Inferno once again.. but what really shines imo is Story mode, and the Tower Mode... both excellent additions to the franchise..

The new characters so far are pretty good, Hilde of course is the best so far, although i still have about 3 to unlock... as far as how it controls, i couldn't seem to find a control scheme i liked, but D has worked for me so far.. Still finding my rythm with the game but its going great so far.. Critical Finishers are the best new addition so far, and are thankfully not game-breaker moves like many fighting games that add them end up being..

Well since MGS4 launched i've had a horrible time with MGO.. mainly because of the fact that it wasn't working.. the longest i had played was 30 seconds before getting disconnected... this happened at least 2 dozen times.. so a week ago i just stopped trying. I've been slowly growing tired of all the martyrdom and juggernaut users in COD4 over the past month, not to mention the frag spamming in wetwork, so in a fit of rage (after the same effing guy, with the same effing n00b t00b spawn killed me 4 effing times in a row) I kinda messed something up.. anyway the long and the short of it is the disc doesn't work anymore..

So i decided i'd give MGO one last chance, as usual, barely started a match (still managed 2 kills) and it stopped working... So instead of sending the disc to the same fate as COD4 i decided to mess around with my router.. low and behold, UPNP had been disable by my technologically illiterate father who had assumed he knew what he was doing... I re-enabled it, disabled the firewall, and reasigned my PS3 to its proper port... then ran the router and modem through a cycle...

*5 minutes, 2 pizza pops, and a can of coke later*

... I head back downstairs and boot up MGO, I get no errors while signing in.. things are looking good... no disconnections or anything while i scroll through the appropriate menus setting up my skills... I hit auto-matching, TDM, and it starts searching.. still no problems... the room fills.. the match starts.. *i'm practically holding my breath the whole time just waiting for something to happen*

...Well here i am after my first hour or so stint on MGO praising Konami for making such a wonderfull online mode in an already unbelievably perfect game, i don't quite have the hang of the sneaking game modes yet, but i'm loving every moment of it...

I don't know whats considered "doing good" on MGO, but so far i have 59 kills, 30 deaths, in 15 rounds.. so almost a 2.00 which i don't think is too shabby..

Anyone else have trouble with MGO?

PS. and i will be buying another copy of COD4.. although not new...

americahellyeah must really love MovieTome and agree with every review we've ever written! What other reason could americahellyeah possibly have for not rating a single film?
