There's been no blog posts for a while because I've not really been doing much gaming. Most of my gaming has with my DS... and it's really only Animal Crossing Wild World that I've been playing.

Animal Crossing has been a regular feature in my DS since I first got it back in April. If you've played any of the Animal Crossing games before then you'll know that even although they are sickeningly cute and graphically very basic, they do have a lot of depth and addictive gameplay! Basically, you have your own town that you look after, your own house that you need to furnish and a revolving cast of characters to interact with. The game has no real ending and what you do is up to you. Even paying off the mortgage (your very first task!) can be ignored if you wish. However, there are benefits to paying; you get a bigger house each time you pay off a chunk of your debt, and a bigger house means more room for more furniture and items. I've almost maxed out my house now... there's only one upgrade to go.

There's also lots of other activities you can undertake; fishing, catching bugs, buying items for your house, planting trees and doing errands for villagers to name just a few. There's always plenty to do but no pressure to do it, which makes for a very laid back game. Recently I've been planting fruit trees so that I can harvest the fruit for money and taking part in the acorn festival...

I've not been buying any games recently because I'm saving up for a trip abroad. There are quite a few games I'd like; for example, I still really want Bioshock, Project Gotham Racing 3, Half Life 2: The Orange Box and Metroid Prime 3: Corruption... but they'll have to wait. I sold my Game Boy Micro recently as there's no real reason to own one if you own a DS.

And I bought The Legend of Zelda: Phantom Hourglass today. I figured I'd need a good game to play when I'm on vacation.

Your character definitely fits what I know of you.

I've been contemplating picking up the GameCube version of Animal Crossing. Is that game just as good?

Yeah, both games are excellent. The gameplay is similar to the sims but with a Nintendo twist that makes them a lot more fun.

I got bored of Animal Crossing fast.

Zelda: PH is fantastic, right?

^ Errr... Phantom Hourglass is good... but I'm not sure about the controls yet.

I found Animal Crossing to be boring quickly. The most fun I had with the game was playing old NES games.

I haven't played a lot recently, but I have decided to update my two Turok guides on gamefaqs. I have all ready created two new sections for the guides.
