Playing:Borderlands,Dead Space,Brutal legend.

So I should be doing the Science work beside me,but Chemistery sucks,so screw that. Can't wait to switch over to Biology. Since my last post I picked up Borderlands, cost 81 bucks if I remember correctly....damn. I mean (Chris Tucker Voice) DDDDDAAAAMMMMNNNN! That's alot of cash for a mediocre game, yes I said mediocre! Borderlands is a Huge letdown. It's fun at first with the humour and the running around outside, but then the flaws start punching you in the face. The annoying Inventory/Shop system, The bosses, The Controls for vehicles, the AI, and the indoors combat. The Bosses take too much to kill and everything from ammo to grenades to guns cost too much. You start off with way too little spaces to store items, not everything is fully explained, you spend half the game comparing guns to figure out which one to sell or drop to make room in your inventory, the controls for the vehicles are like the Warthog controls in Halo 3 AKA they suck. The reasons why the AI and Indoor combat is flawed is because you'll start in a room, that room has three guys in it, the room beside it has 5 guys in it, the room next to that room has a big brute dude in it. As soon as you fire a single shot,EVERY THING within 5 miles of your location comes running at ya, so instead of fighting 3 guys your fighting 8 guys while a brute is busy round house kicking your face! Ahhhhhh..

I also picked up Dead Space off Xbox Live's Games On Demand Service for only $20! I wasn't remotely planning on picking up Dead Space, but if no disc is need and it's only $20 then hell yeah I'm interested! Dead Space is one of those games that does almost nothing new, but does almost everything really well, so you can't really complain. The controls are pretty solid and the characters seem likable. I'm about half way through the 2cnd chapter and so far I haven't seen much of the characters and the story has basically been "your in a broken with aliens,go here, now here, then there, etc". It's very much like thelegendary movies Alien and it's sequel, Aliens and that's always a good thing! The best way to describe Dead Space is Resident Evil 4 in space, but think better and scary. If there's one thing RE4 and 5 didn't do too much (If at all) is have have me creeped out. Sure once and a while something would pop out, but that's not how you scare people! This game however builds up a great atmosphere via the sounds in the backround, the moving shadows, the constant fear of an alien jumping out of the vents at ya, and how the game very slowly tells how to better handle the enemies. Sure the game does partake in some cheap scares, but for the most part the atmosphere and just overall tone of the game is what get's you creeped the hell out! Another great thing that adds to the game is the fact that there's no stats on the screen. You switch weapons in real time via the D – Pad, The menu is a hologram that pops up in front of you (VIA your futuristic spacesuit helmet) and you can walk around with the menu flaoting in mid air in front of you like a real hologram. The best thing is that your menu automatically disapears if you press the aim button,so if an alien sneaks up on you while your looking at the menu, you can be ready to fight it with just a press of the button. You Health is shown via a tube of the back of your suit and the same for your "Psychic energy" and you ammo is displayed by the guns them self. The lack of a HUD/Stats really helps you get sucked into the game. The "Psychic Energy" can be used to power your "Psychic Powers" (Remember it's the future) like the ability to slow down broken doors, running enemies, etc. You have more powers, just FYI. Another great thing is that to kill your enemies your must shoot off their limbs to slowly kill them/slow them down, so all your guns are stuff like guns that shoot saw blades, which is pretty cool. Thus far Dead Space has been amazing!

Brutal Legend is amazing. The music, The writing, the Combat, It's all just soooooooooooooo good. Yes it has RTS elements to it, but it also has beat em up, racing, action adventure, and slight puzzle elements to it. It also highly encourages exploring/free roaming. The characters and jokes are all so clever. I love all the upgrades for your weapons and car, The world the game takes place in is so funny , well devolped, and just plain awesome! The voice cast is amazing (although a shame Dio didn't make the final cut) and I had a nice surprise when Kage, Jack Black's Bandmate from Tenacious D (Who I'll say right now that I'm a fan off) not only voiced a character, but the character was made to look like him! The soundtrack is so good too. My only complaints: NO METALLICA??!!!
