Where the Wild Things Are

See it. If you've read the book, I mean. If not, probably best off to avoid it. I loved it. Soundtrack by Karen O was fantastic, but then again, my Karen O crush might have something to do with that. Spike Jonez did a great job, dude really needs to work more. Much dap goes to the boy who played Max, he was extremely believable considering he was the only real actor on screen for three quarters of the film. My favorite part was of the experience, there was a kid in the theatre who was roaring like a wild thing all throughout the second half of the movie and afterwards in the lobby. Can't wait to see it again.

I haven't been around too much lately. Happiness breeds monotony.

Today was the longest day ever. Sort of feels like I'm writing in haiku form. I suppose a lack of sleep will do that. Jus waiting for Curb Your Enthusiasm to finish so I can watch it and go in to a 6 to 8 hour coma. I worked from 5:30 in the afternoon to 1:00am. Wasn't to bad, actually, I was scheduled to work until 2:00am. Work is lame, but bills gotta be paid.

My iTunes DJ is playing the most depressing music right now. What's the universe trying to tell me here?

Some people at work are starting to really annoy me. Most everyone is pretty cool, but there's this one dude. His confidence is unmerrited and his arrogance is borderline aggrivating. He needs to be taken down a peg or two. Thankfully, he's not part of my team so I don't have to worry about him, but I still have to hear him talk every so often. He's an exagerator. He'll embelish the simpliest things for no monetary gain at all.

Let's not harp on the negative.

I've got a few new friends. It's nice having people to talk to, even if they don't live in the same part of the world. The other one, sort of might have something brewing a bit. I work with her and we've been talking a lot lately. She wants to go out for dinner sometime soon. She's definitely the kind of girl I would date. Although, she is a bit younger than me. I'm not sure she knows I'm 28. Is it wrong of me to not be upfront with that? She's 20, so it's not really morrally outrageous, is it? Although, 8 years could be a big deal to a lot of people. Thoughts?

Something strange has been going on at work. I think people have been talking about me. I sort of get that defenseless sort of feeling that comes along with feeling like you're outside looking in. As if everyone knows something you don't. Although, I could just be paranoid. Things are going well so this could be my brains way of trying to mess everything up.

Also saw Couples Retreat. Very lame. Especially considering Vince Vaugn and Jon Favreau's resume. Made and Swingers, the last two movies they wrote together, were both gems. Couples Retreat felt very dated and formulaic. There were a few laughs to be had, for sure, but overall it crashed and burned for me.

Zomebieland, if you haven't seen it yet, do yourself a favor. For me, the biggest surprise of the year.

Um... TV is back. Curb Your Enthusiasm has been great. Best season yet perhaps. Same goes for It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia. The Office is losing me. 30 Rock had a great start. Entourage is over for the year. The season was a bust. Californication is becoming a parody of itself. Very disappointing. That's about all I watch. Oh, and House continues to be brilliant. Best show on network TV by a longshot.

Well I'm gonna make myself a snack, watch Larry David make an a$$ outta himself and go to bed. Another early day tomorrow.

Peace out peace haters,

Al.

Al! A new blog I just wrote one too go us hah. I dont really remember much about the book, just that i loved it. I really want to see it, definitly will try and make time to see it soon. Aww thats cute about the little kid. Ya i bet it was a great experience. O well at least you got done with inventory an hour earlier, thats always nice. Too bad you wont get a decent amount of sleep, but hey you will atleast sleep better tonight probably hah. lol sorry about your itunes depressing song :p Ughhh guys like that annoy me. At least you dont have to work with him constantly...but yes im sure the few times you do hear him speaking it makes you want to go yell at him hah or atleast itwould me. Yay for new friends Lets see 20-28 isnt that big of a deal in my opinion. Besides if she likes you she wont really care. I wouldnt at least. Its not like your lying about it, its just age hasnt ever came up right? Hah hopefully you 2 can do dinner sometime, thatd be fun. What makes you think people are talking about you? what would they be talking about even! Im sure its just paranoia. Thats too bad about Couples Retreat, I thought it looked really good. I want to see Zombieland, I think it looks hilarious. Calfornication has bored me so far, I havent even been able to focus thru an entire episode. House is amazing! Hope you have a nice week!

I haven't seen Where The Wild Things Are and probably won't until the DVD comes out (purely for monetary reasons) but I hold Spike Jonze in high regard as a director, especially after the Buddy Holly and Undone-The Sweater Song videos.
As for the girl, if you need to ask whether you should date a 20 year old when you are 28, please assume the pimp hand position. After you both have drunken sex, then it's the time for honesty. (I hope Hell has an open bar to go with the metal and porn, cause I'm gonna be needing it). In all seriousness, just go on the date and tell her at a point where things seem comfortable. Remember, women are biologically attracted to men they see as being able to provide for a family, which is why they tend to be attracted to slightly older men. Read what you will into that. And given that I sound exactly like that guy you work with, I won't talk. It's probably just an act though, it is for me.

WTWTA and Zombieland are both very, very very great movies! My friends dragged me to see Law Abiding Citizen...which wasn't bad. Very over-the-top but not a bad popcorn flick. Better than Couples Retreat (Jean Reno deserves better roles)

8 year differences aren't anything so long as both are of legal age IMHO. My mom and day are 7 years apart, what's one more?

I've never been too into CYE, but I also have never had HBO, and only recently had access to the movie network, so I kind of decided being late to the party sucks, and ditched it altogether

I have intentions of seeing both Where the wild things are and Zombieland.
I dont think the Age difference is a big deal, shes legal so go for it dude. You know what i have never seen an entire episode of house. apparently i should.
