One of the bad things about having a day off during the week is there's nothing to do because everyone else is either working or in school. So I'm sitting at home catching up on TV and putting off the things I should be doing like laundry and dishes.

Speaking of TV, Curb Your Enthusiasm. I know I praise it pretty well every time I blog, but it really is the funniest show on TV right now. Well, either it or It's Always Sunny In Philadelphia. This weeks Curb was a riot.

So yeah, I guess I'm somewhat bored right now, in between TV shows and not really wanting to start cleaning my place just yet. So how about a lame survey? This one was in my inbox and usually I just delete.

Well I suppose I've procrastinated enough, it's time to make the donuts.

Where the Wild Things Are

See it. If you've read the book, I mean. If not, probably best off to avoid it. I loved it. Soundtrack by Karen O was fantastic, but then again, my Karen O crush might have something to do with that. Spike Jonez did a great job, dude really needs to work more. Much dap goes to the boy who played Max, he was extremely believable considering he was the only real actor on screen for three quarters of the film. My favorite part was of the experience, there was a kid in the theatre who was roaring like a wild thing all throughout the second half of the movie and afterwards in the lobby. Can't wait to see it again.

I haven't been around too much lately. Happiness breeds monotony.

Today was the longest day ever. Sort of feels like I'm writing in haiku form. I suppose a lack of sleep will do that. Jus waiting for Curb Your Enthusiasm to finish so I can watch it and go in to a 6 to 8 hour coma. I worked from 5:30 in the afternoon to 1:00am. Wasn't to bad, actually, I was scheduled to work until 2:00am. Work is lame, but bills gotta be paid.

My iTunes DJ is playing the most depressing music right now. What's the universe trying to tell me here?

Some people at work are starting to really annoy me. Most everyone is pretty cool, but there's this one dude. His confidence is unmerrited and his arrogance is borderline aggrivating. He needs to be taken down a peg or two. Thankfully, he's not part of my team so I don't have to worry about him, but I still have to hear him talk every so often. He's an exagerator. He'll embelish the simpliest things for no monetary gain at all.

Let's not harp on the negative.

I've got a few new friends. It's nice having people to talk to, even if they don't live in the same part of the world. The other one, sort of might have something brewing a bit. I work with her and we've been talking a lot lately. She wants to go out for dinner sometime soon. She's definitely the kind of girl I would date. Although, she is a bit younger than me. I'm not sure she knows I'm 28. Is it wrong of me to not be upfront with that? She's 20, so it's not really morrally outrageous, is it? Although, 8 years could be a big deal to a lot of people. Thoughts?

Something strange has been going on at work. I think people have been talking about me. I sort of get that defenseless sort of feeling that comes along with feeling like you're outside looking in. As if everyone knows something you don't. Although, I could just be paranoid. Things are going well so this could be my brains way of trying to mess everything up.

Also saw Couples Retreat. Very lame. Especially considering Vince Vaugn and Jon Favreau's resume. Made and Swingers, the last two movies they wrote together, were both gems. Couples Retreat felt very dated and formulaic. There were a few laughs to be had, for sure, but overall it crashed and burned for me.

Zomebieland, if you haven't seen it yet, do yourself a favor. For me, the biggest surprise of the year.

Um... TV is back. Curb Your Enthusiasm has been great. Best season yet perhaps. Same goes for It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia. The Office is losing me. 30 Rock had a great start. Entourage is over for the year. The season was a bust. Californication is becoming a parody of itself. Very disappointing. That's about all I watch. Oh, and House continues to be brilliant. Best show on network TV by a longshot.

Well I'm gonna make myself a snack, watch Larry David make an a$$ outta himself and go to bed. Another early day tomorrow.

Peace out peace haters,

Al.

I need a haircut. Badly. It's throwing off my game. I don't know what to do with it anymore. It's in an awkward stage - it's too long and too short. My confidence is already paper thin, worrying about this nonsense is killing me.

What's up? It's already been a week since my last entry. Looking back at older entries, I can't believe I found time to do this every other day. I mean, time moves by so damn fast, finding some to chill in front of my mac and spill my mind can be difficult, but here we go.

There's this girl I work with who I think may dig my style and like my moves. At least all signs are telling me so. Sadly, it's not my semi-hot (but not really) boss. She's nice, the one who has a thing for me. Talks to much, has an annoying laugh, but I'm sure my laundry list is just as long. I was at her place the other night. We had a good time, sort of. There was a peace hater in the midst. Her friend. Ugh. Apparently I'm not cool enough so I was given the cold shoulder all night. We wanted to go to some club to check out some local bands, but she, the peace hater, didn't want to pay cover charge. I'd of offered had she been a relatively decent human being, but she was far from it. I'll give her the benefit of the doubt, as I do, (I have more faith in people than they probably deserve) since I tend to make bad first impressions myself.

Anyway, we spent the night at some dive and ended up at this girls apartment. The one who digs me. We couldn't shake the third wheel, or the fourth one for that matter, so I gave up and got wasted. I wasn't driving and I didn't work the next day so I didn't care. The peace hater continued to lament my presense until she finally left. Ugh, really, I'd have told her off if I wasn't the master of bad first impressions. But still, I hope our paths never cross again.

As for inter-office flings, they never go as planned so I don't know where I stand. But, then again, it's been a while and it may be good to knock out a couple of hood rats before I'm called back to the major leagues.

That sounded awful.

My mom is in fantastic spirits. Or at least that's the front she's putting up. Usually I can see through her attempts at faking happiness, but this seems genuine. Which, of course, makes me happy. Still no word on test results.

Stone Temple Pilots in November. These are exciting times we live in, friends. Definitely one of my favorite bands of all time. I still contend that Purple is one of the best albums of the 90s. I'd rather not start that discussion though, so please, don't volunteer your expertise in the subject.

Speaking of live music, I missed the boat on Metric tickets. I'm super bummed. My mega-crush on Emily Haines is well documented (and probably closely monitored by the rcmp) and it kills me that I'm not gonna make the show. I can get tickets on Stub Hub, but I'm not willing to pay the excessive price of admission. I'm lower-middle c|ass (who am I kidding, low c|ass and, although I could probably tempt fate and go a week or two without food, even Emily isn't worth it. At least that's what I'm trying to tell myself.

I picked up The Beatles Rock Band. I know, the barrage of guitar games over the last couple of years has desensitized most of us to their charm, but it's The Beatles and it's a lot of fun. Plus the difficultly level has been brought down a bit (to appeal to older fans, no doubt) so I can actually do reasonably well on hard. Anyway, I would highly recommend it to anyone who's a Beatles fan. There's only 40 or so songs, but more are coming via DLC.

That's about it that's new with me. I'm stoked that some of my favorite shows are back: Curb Your Enthusiasm, It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia and Californication. Other than that, I'm pretty bored of television. I'm so far behind and I'm not too interested in catching up.

Question of the Blog:

Where do you see yourself in 5 years?

Me, I'll probably be working some lame job, hopefully in another city, maybe have settled down with a really cool girl who can tolerate me and whom I can do the same, maybe to the unthinkable and bring a child into this horrible, disgusting world. Yeah, we'll see.

Anyway, it's well past my bed time. In honor of my no-longer-pending restraining order from Emily Haines (since I wont be seeing her live), here's some music to fall asleep to.
