Well not really, but I sat next to him at a sushi bar and got to talk to him a little bit. I see him at my local gym (not a training camp, just a regular LVAC gym) every other day, but I never bother him except for the occasional "what's up champ". Cool dude. I need to start carrying around my copy of UFC Undisputed so I can get that baby signed.
I'm a bit of a completionist. Once I start a game, I want to go thru it with a fine-toothed comb and unlock everything, complete every mission, find every item, check every detail, etc.
I also really dig nastalgia. I probably spend more time kickin it old school with the klassics I've mastered more than keeping up with the current pace of this generation.
And I'm an extreme juggler. Any given time I'm playing at least 10-20 different games, whether it's the neo geo, genesis, or PSWii60.
I can't help but feel, however, that I'm just not fulfilling my role as a "hardcore" gamer. Times have changed since I've dominated and toppled the dusty ruins of the arcade era and maybe I just like revolving around so many titles, but I feel like I'm slacking a bit. Everyone else is talking about this game and OMG that game and what about the ending for insert name here...
I can't stand it, and I have a rep to uphold dammit.
I'm listing a bunch of games that I think have RECENTLY (within the past year or 2) had a huge impact on the industry, have all been the hype, and always make me close my eyes when reading comments about due to fear of SPOILERS because I have not finished them!
I'm doin this, wish me luck. My goals for this week...actually, who am I kidding, let's make it a month (still farfetched, I know).
MY To-Complete-these EPICS LIST:
Complete Bioshock 360 (I think I'm 25% complete since launch day)
Complete GTAIV 360 (Maybe 50-65% since launch)
Complete Fallout 3 360 (Again, maybe 50-65% since launch)
Re-start and complete MGS4 PS3 (About 70% complete since launch, but this was prior to trophies...I plan on restarting if trophies are implemented in game since updates, tho I rly don't want to)
Complete DMC4 360 (Non-launch, maybe 40% depending on how you look at it. I've gone back and replayed all levels getting S-rankings with Nero up until you swtich over to Dante...I prefer using Nero for this sequel, thank you. I've got some work to do :sad face)
Complete Gears2 360 (Eh, maybe halfway there, I dunno, kinda lost interest).
Complete NG2 360 (Maybe halfway there since launch. Started over to include the Challenge modes. I don't see this as a problem since I fininshed Ninja Gaiden Black several times and unlocked and completed all the insane challenges in that, I just need to schedule some face time with this bad boy).
Re-start and complete Resi5 PS3 (Got to about 25-30% since launch then added a new profile for trophy hunting...0% at the moment).
Complete Metroid Prime 3 Wii (Non-launch, like 5% maybe...still can't get used to the controls)
Complete No More Heroes Wii (Non-launch, completed Chapter 1
fuk yea I smell like win!)
Complete Mario Galaxy Wii (Non-launch...Not sure how to categorize, collected 20 stars or something)
Complete Resistance 2 PS3 (15-20% since launch maybe?)
Complete KillZone 2 PS3 (Launch. Re-started under new profile for trophy collecting...0% right now and haven't touched mutliplayer)
Play LBP PS3 (Bought the game on launch but never played, not rly a game to "complete" anyway, so this can be deleted from list...not rly epic imo newayz, but it was popular so I threw it in)
Play more DeadSpace 360 (bought on launch, played 10 minutes, looks great!).
Other major titles I started to play and won't finish till next-gen:
The Witcher PC (Finally got boobies patch working. Go boobies!)
Crysis and Warhead PC (So beeeeautiful!)
Diablo 2 PC (Rebooted for nastalgia purposes, never fininshed, point and laugh)
Doom 3 PC (Rebooted for nastalgia purposes, never fininshed)
Oblivion GOTY PC (Did finish regular edition Oblivion on 360 with 900 Achievements, so that's pretty good right? Ugh, took sooo long tho)
^_^
So there it is...my sporadic list...a few good ones I've missed, I know, but it's a good start.
I can't say that I've completed ANY games this year...close tho. I guess once you finish a fighting game with the entire roster, than yeah maybe that's a completion, so I'm close with SFIV, but I've been doing most the beatings against online weenies.
Anyway, what are your thoughts? Anyone have a few games they picked up and put down before finishing...or is everyone just too awesome...I know you are ![]()
btw Happy 420 kids...hope you get arrested!
Hey Y'alls Happy Thankgiving!
Pretty stoked at the moment because for the first time in a year since living on my own, I'm actually typing this message from the comforts of my own home and not the office *gasp.
I finally did the right thing and bought a computer...a monster actually.
Me and my friend (who is an absolute computer whiz) built it in about 3 hours yesterday after work...not a single hitch either, fired up an BAM! Everything registered, no DOAs, no post-beeps. nothing. Installed Vista Ultimate (not sure if I should kick myself in the ass yet for that OS) in about 20 minutes and I was good to go.
I bought mostly everything from Newegg.com, with the exception of my processor, which is a good thing, because originally I had purchased Intel's QX9770 without knowing the i7 line was right around the corner. i7s were released about a week later, and I was able to return my QX in exchange for the i7 extreme...good thing because imo' it's comparitively beefy and $500 cheaper.
The only component I couldn't install was a cpu cooling fan...wasn't compatible with i7 or the mobo I bought. Luckily, the one included with the i7 works great and looks good too...probably the only compatible fan on the market as I type this. Hopefully, I can send it back for my money...it was a badass fan too...but oh well.
Oh and another thing. I ordered an LG Blu-ray/HDVD burner drive, and that was the only item shipped seperately from everything else...won't get it till monday...so I had to rip a DVD drive out of an old busted up computer from the office and use that.
Anyway, I'm so excited that I can finallyregister accounts on xbox live and psn now and start playing with you guys...I've had the 360 since launch and have yet to experience the joy of being cussed out by 13 year olds online...can you believe that? so so sad. I've got a wireless router but only 1 gaming adapter, so I may only be able to connect 1 system at a time...I'm not sure, but I'm definitely going to be setting up xbox live 1st. Maybe tonight.
Now the moment of truth...here's the specs and a few pics:
Processor - Intel i7Extreme
Mobo - Asus Rampage II Extreme
Graphics - 2 x Asus 4870x2 Top Editions
Power - Tagan BZ 1300w
Memory - 3 x 2GB Corsair (DDR3 Triple Channel)
Hard Drive - 2 x 300GB WD Velociraptors (Raid0)
Monitor(s) - Samsung 22" (working), Samsung 32" (not installed yet)
Case - Antec Twelve Hundred
Other stuff - Razer and NZXT keyboard and mouse
It's pretty much on the bleeding edge of technology...for the next 6 months at least. No games yet tho, except for a trial of WOW...do I dare play that game and not see daylight or human interaction for the next year or so? I just don't know.
I did buy Crysis SE for $20 and Doom3 (never finished on xbox), but I won't be getting those till next week. Still bidding on Gears...I wanna play the additional levels.
The only thing I need to do now is hook my Mackie speakers and subwoofer up thru my turntable mixer, and I'll have a sound system powerful enough to match my rig...and piss off my neighbors for sure.
Oh also, I'm using Google's new Chrome browser...I heard it's one of the most secure browsers out right now, it's simple, and it's pretty rad. Try it out.

Anyway, hope everyone had a great Turkey Day and is enjoying the extended weekend. Merkin you soon. Later.
