GAMES: GameSpot GameFAQs MOVIES: Metacritic Movietome Comic-Con

I'm sorry to make such a personal entry on a gaming blog but I'm quite happy today and I do want to share it with you. Today is the day my wife and I celebrate our 4th anniversary together. It's the day she moved in.

We've started dating in 1997 (we gotta date to celebrate it as well) but living together was a major change in our lives.

It's somehow game related as she's the one who insists in getting the platinum trophies in all games, challenges me almost every weekend on Mortal Kombat and Soul Calibur IV and loves to watch action and horror games being played.

We've learned a lot from each other in those years but gaming wise, her Sheng Tsung fireballs have improved a lot, her Astaroth moves got harder to block and Birdo has never been faster in Mario Kart Wii.

We're now tackling Dead Space. Bioshock and Prince of Persia are next on our list.

I'll take the chance to also celebrate my 6 years of GameSpot! Officially, that'll only happen in 2 days but since this is a celebration post, I'll celebrate it all in one go. What started with a web site to organize my collection ended up being a place gather information on games, read and write reviews and most importantly, to make friends.

I've met really nice and sweet people here in GS, friends I cherish and intend to keep, even though we live far.

So, I guess that's what I had to share. Thank you guys for reading and for doing all the friendly things good pals and gals are supposed to do.

Happy Anniversary to you and your gorgeous wife Many people here would die to have a woman like yours, not only she doesn't criticize you for playing much but even encourages and shares your hobby, that's a treasure, value her!

PS, Cherish, not value, was the word I had in mind ^^"

@sky-ia : Women gamers like you should definitely be valued, Basia. I'm sure that if the guys here knew how cute you are and how addicted to Guild Wars you were, they'd be chartering flights to Poland right now.

Hey, that's nice congratz! As a relatively new friend of yours, I didn't know anything about your personal life and one reckons GSers are mostly teenagers or collage students! It is good to have a partner who is interested in gaming, because we gamers spend a great deal of our free time gaming and this is hard to tolerate if the other person is not into it.

Congrats on both fronts friend, especially to you and your wife. As for your time on GS, I can only say that I could get my gaming news and reviews just about anywhere, but its the friends I've met on GS such as yourself that keep me coming back.

And its fantastic that you and your wife can game together. I'm still yet to find myself a game savy companion. Most of my ex's "just can't figure out how I can play those silly things", even though they spend countless hours watching reality television shows I can't stand, LOL.

Happy aniversary ...I am married for 6 year by now, but unlike you ...I would like to see my wife playing games more. She play SCIV and is pretty skilled player, but share no interest in PC games I was amazed the time i played great Age of Conan game online to see husband and wife play in the same team.

@khatibi22 : I'm 34 and even though I met some people here who are a tad older, most gamers are fairly younger. I consider myself lucky to have found a wife that tolerates gaming and actually plays with me. @TheKungFool : Most of my friends have similar problems. Their wives can't understand gaming but are willing to spend 4 hours watching TV. Go figure.

@gfile : I met a lot of couples in WoW that played together. It's quite nice since it's a time consuming hobby.

Congrats to you!!! That's wonderful you and your wife can game together! I hope that this is me and my b/f in a few years!!
I have an opposite problem than most ppl, my b/f is nowhere near as into games as I am. But he's getting there. He used to only play RPGs but he's played some horror/action lately and liked it. A few days ago he even asked me about Fatal Frame. I was so proud!
