I've been playing a lot of games lately. Since I've given up WoW almost two months ago I've been able to try some of the games that had been waiting for me in my shelf for a while now.
Most of those games I haven't finished. They just did not manage to keep me interested after a couple of hours and some simply lacked depth for those couple of hours. Those include Valkyria Chronicles (I've been defeated by the cuteness factor) and Curse, the Eye of Isis.
I've also managed to find some good games like Prince of Persia, Warrior Within, which I reviewed and now I'm playing Indigo Prophecy. It's the closest to an non Japanese interactive story I've ever played. I've experienced it for 3 hours and I can honestly say I'm enjoying it a lot.
Right out of the box, I've read the manual, which contains a foreword of the game's producer talking about how he felt about games being solely focused on action nowadays and that he thought that games needed more emotion. My first reaction was this guy is so full of it, like I usually do with those you can chose your destiny or similar PR statements.
Playing a bit more I think that I might have been a tad to hasty to pass judgement. The game really focus on the story, so much that it feels more like an interactive adventure than a point and click or action game. I do enjoy spending time interacting with the environment, finding ways to lower or raise my mental state. Also, the timed sequences are very well designed.
I'll keep you guys updated of my impressions.
P.S. More on the cuteness factor on my next blog.

PoP TWW is also a good game. After reading your review I was tempted to start playing it as I have never finished the game, but then I got me Underworld. Don't know how it feels when one plays an older game
@Khatibi22 : Yeah, Indigo Prophecy is proving to be a nice ride. Valkyria Chronicles is a PS3 turn based strategy game on a WW2 setting. I only wish it had the violence level of a Riddick game. Warrior Within is indeed a great game but it shows its age. If you're focused on graphics, 1680x1050 with 8x AA and 8x AF, superior specular lighting and other cool names for ultra high graphic setting, I'd bet my 2 cents you won't like it. If you have a soft spot in your heart for a good plot and a taste for a fast paced combat system then it's your game.

Dammit, I buy way too many games, then get wrapped up in some 200 hour RPG (damn you Oblivion) and end up not playing stuff I payed good money for. *grumble*
