I've been playing a lot of games lately. Since I've given up WoW almost two months ago I've been able to try some of the games that had been waiting for me in my shelf for a while now.

Most of those games I haven't finished. They just did not manage to keep me interested after a couple of hours and some simply lacked depth for those couple of hours. Those include Valkyria Chronicles (I've been defeated by the cuteness factor) and Curse, the Eye of Isis.

I've also managed to find some good games like Prince of Persia, Warrior Within, which I reviewed and now I'm playing Indigo Prophecy. It's the closest to an non Japanese interactive story I've ever played. I've experienced it for 3 hours and I can honestly say I'm enjoying it a lot.

Right out of the box, I've read the manual, which contains a foreword of the game's producer talking about how he felt about games being solely focused on action nowadays and that he thought that games needed more emotion. My first reaction was this guy is so full of it, like I usually do with those you can chose your destiny or similar PR statements.

Playing a bit more I think that I might have been a tad to hasty to pass judgement. The game really focus on the story, so much that it feels more like an interactive adventure than a point and click or action game. I do enjoy spending time interacting with the environment, finding ways to lower or raise my mental state. Also, the timed sequences are very well designed.

I'll keep you guys updated of my impressions.

P.S. More on the cuteness factor on my next blog.

Might be a game worth checking, if not for the rediculously large collection on my shelf that still needs some attention.
Dammit, I buy way too many games, then get wrapped up in some 200 hour RPG (damn you Oblivion) and end up not playing stuff I payed good money for. *grumble*

Fahrenheit (Indigo Prophecy) is a grand game I loved it! I wished I haven't played it so I could experience the joy I felt playing this game one more time.
PoP TWW is also a good game. After reading your review I was tempted to start playing it as I have never finished the game, but then I got me Underworld. Don't know how it feels when one plays an older game Valkyria Chronicles? Is it not the Riddick game?

@TheKungFool : I used to have the same feeling when I played WoW. Even so, I guess you should take your time and enjoy Oblivion as most games won't hold your attention for half as long.

@Khatibi22 : Yeah, Indigo Prophecy is proving to be a nice ride. Valkyria Chronicles is a PS3 turn based strategy game on a WW2 setting. I only wish it had the violence level of a Riddick game. Warrior Within is indeed a great game but it shows its age. If you're focused on graphics, 1680x1050 with 8x AA and 8x AF, superior specular lighting and other cool names for ultra high graphic setting, I'd bet my 2 cents you won't like it. If you have a soft spot in your heart for a good plot and a taste for a fast paced combat system then it's your game.

Lol, of course I checked the game in net. Well TWW still looks acceptable but I got me TR Underworld and I am playing that one now. Although I enjoy good graphics but it is not everything. I have played one superb game ( Freedom fighter) from 2005 last year and it looked quit okay

Was that your first Prince of Persia Game? I still have Two Thrones to finish, with each PoP game the gameplay is more brutal and less fairytale-like. Definitely one of the most lively games I've played in the recent years, I enjoyed all of them, Sands of Time, WW, TTT and PoP 2008 even though its repetitiveness. Somehow, I'm concentrating more on story based games atm with less action and button mashing

@Sky-ia : I've played Sands of Time as well. I think both are great games, even though their atmosphere is completely different. The game play is good but it was the story that kept me going. I really wanted to know the fates of Kaileena, the Price and the Dahaka.

I didn't mean that PoP games don't have good plot, of course they do, but sometimes the gameplay is difficult and you have to repeat a certain moment and it takes some time to progress with the plot. I have the same problem with Devil May Cry, where some fights keep me in one place for several days. It's the first time my fingers really hurt and have some blisters but I obstinately keep on pushing the NO button when the games asks me to switch to Easy Mode, lol.
