After seeing the first two Spiderman movies, I couldn't wait for the third. Once I realized that the New Goblin, Sandman, and the Venom would make appearances, I was certainly thrilled. A few weeks before the release, I had even started a countdown. An obsession towards the Spiderman franchise had engulfed me. I went with some of my friends on opening day, and wished I could skip past all those annoying commercials. The movie started, and I thought I was in for a great ride. However, I realized I was mostly wrong.

Spiderman 3 had such huge expectations that Sam Raimi must have decided to fill the movie with whatever he thought interesting. I was hoping that the movie would concentrate more on Venom, while Sandman would have a side role, and the Goblin would play a short part. However, it was Sandman who played the main villain, and was the center of attention. The movie would go off track, especially during the "emo" and drunk Peter Parker scenes. There were a few others that were just unnecessary and uncalled for. I think the only part of the movie I thoroughly enjoyed was the last segment (the fight), where the real action began. I do hope Spiderman 4 and the rest of the movies that follow make an improvement.
