As I have mentioned in my profile, I live Sri- Lanka, where we have civil war. Yesterday morning, suicide bomber attacked a defense administrator, in heart the capital. Even though the targeted person was able survive, a half dozen people got killed because of the incident. ![]()
This war has been going on for 20 years now. We get to see some sort of attack in capital at least every 3 months. Most of the time, civilians get hurt due to these attacks. So going to work or school in capital is a sort of a risk. I do not want comment on who is right or who is wrong on the political matter. I hope these events will come to halt very soon, but I doubt it because our people are not ready sacrifice anything for long last peace. I am bit frustrated about the way most of people thing about think about the situation. I will comment on that on another blog.

In away it makes sense. But I doubt a having big war would irradicate this problem, since this is an ethnic problem.

Sometimes it's best to have one big war (as the USA did in the 1860s) and have it over. Stretching the war out over multiple decades may reduce the lives lost but it wears a society down and prevents it from reaching it maximum greatness.
War is in any case isn't good for anyone. People should respect each other enough to work out their differences. War, though, will be with us unfortunately until the creator of all arrives.
