Very interesting movie about the war that explains something that is happening now. This movie is about a group of boys coming back from iraq. One of them is stop lossed (sent back even though his tour is over) and he does not want to go. It shows how the war effects the boys and how it messes them up. Phillippe plays the soldier who does not want to go back. It shows how his decision effects his life and the lives of his men. The acting in this movie is actually well done highlighted by phillippe. He is well well is showing how his character is torn between his loyalty to his country and his not wanting to go back to iraq. There are some graphic scenes in this movie as is the violence. They do not hide anything and its raw. I think the subject of this movie makes it a difficult watch. This is a good movie worth a viewing even if you do not agree with the war. It shows a different point of view which is good and its very well done.

The main character is a surfer who comes to a town and when he arrives little by little he finds out there are vampires there. The lead vampire takes a liking to the surfer's sister so the surfer has to try to join the tribe to get his sister away. Yes the cast is young and they look good but lets be hoenst here how much material is here. Not much and they bring back feldman even though his character was a minor character in the original movie. Basically they join forces to get rid of the vampires and then its over. The ending is interesting in the fact that they obviously are going to make another sequel. I am not much of a fan of the first movie so when I heard they where making a sequel I had no idea why. Lets be honest here from start to finish this is a bad movie. The whole idea of harold and kumar going to guantanamo bay and then escape in an hour. Then they go on a road trip all over the country. They meet a bunch of people and suppoedly there is comedy somewhere here. I think maybe you would have to actually be high to think that parts of this movie are funny. Again we go with the whole hit or miss style of comedy. They put a lot of things out there and they hope that some of them stick. There are more misses here then hits because this is a really poorly done movie. Skip this movie at all costs unless you are high or just really really bored.

Suddenly she is confronted with being poor soooo instead of being NORMAL she decides to get a job and in going to that job she devises a plan to rob her job. She just happens to get a job at the federal bank where they shred and burn money. Then she gets the great idea of stealing the money all under the noses of video cameras and people all over the place. If this plot sounds ridiculous its because it is. The second thing you will notice after watching this movie is that its not very funny considering the cast. Zahn plays a guy who has a wilderness show that is about to be cast. He is given 2 weeks before the show is going to be canceled. So with his zany crew they go on a trip to try to find bigfoot with a map they are trying to buy. Of course they have no money to buy this map. They go on the trip in a forest that looks a lot like universal studios. The acting in this movie is average and the comedy really is not there. More then anything its pretty forced some of the scenes. Not to say that some of the comdey is not funny because it is but its more hit and miss. Actually its pretty more miss then hit. This is an eerie movie based on true events. Well according to the makers of the movie that is. The true events are a series of robberies that occured in the director's home town. It involved a stranger knocking on a person's door to see if someone was there then robbing the house. The other aspect of this movie that was real was the semi copying of the charles manson murders. Anyone familar with that story will see some of the similarities to this one. This is the story of a couple who is away in a secluded cabin. It was supposed to be a romantic evening but after a failed marriage proposal it turns into a morbid one. Then the couple realizes they are not alone. The strangers end up torturing the couple in many ways until the end. The use various techniques to scare the hell out of the couple. Breaking things making noises jumping in and out of the frame is what the director uses to create tension. The actual ads for this movie shows that this is a scary movie. When you actually watch the movie its not very scary. The tension tends to make it more that what it is. The acting here is average at best and there is not much gore or violence. There is a decent scream at the end of the movie but overall this is a pretty decent movie. I really think this is a winter movie so to release this movie now could be a mistake. Especially releasing it against sex in the city and one week after indiana jones is not good. Its worth a viewing if anything on dvd.

Longoria plays a lady who is getting married but she is very controlling. On the eve of her getting married something happens where she is killed. Once you watch this movie you see its a cute little love story with a silly exterior. Its a shame that they had to advertise this movie really silly. They went for the whole hilton being hot and her friend being ugly. Honestly its only about 2/3 of the movie and the rest is actually pretty good. It tells the story of a loser basically who reunites with his childhood love. He wants to be with her but the only way he can is to get her ugly friend a boyfried. So he goes through all these things to get her a man. They end up meeting a guy who helps to make the nottie nnot so ugly. Suddenly she is hot also and the guy is not sure what he wants to do. I will not reveal the rest but I was surprised about where they went with this movie. I really expected them to just go with the usual ugly jokes and that was going to be the movie. First I have to say that I am a fan of the indiana jones series. When I heard that this movie was coming out I could not wait to see it. I saw the ads and it did not look that bad. In watching this movie I was disappointed. Part of the problem is that it has to live up to the other three movies which it does not. Ford reprises his role as jones but he is long in the tooth. He looks every bit the age of 65 yrs old. Russian agents take the place of the nazis. They kidnap jones and make him show them where a certain artifact is at in area 51 in the u.s.a. Then jones makes his getaway in the typical indiana jones fashion. Then as he is going away (because he is being forced to take a leave of absence from his teaching job) labeouf stops him from leaving. He tells jones his mother is in trouble as is a collegue of jones. The both of them go searching with a letter which gives them clues of where to go. Then they have to go after a crystal skull all the while dodging the russians (lead by blanchett). I will not explain the rest of the movie because I do not want to spoil anything for anybody. I see that lucas was responsible for writing this story and you can see where he touch is. The ending is kinda lame to be honest and it leaves you wondering .. what the hell is this!!.. Now ford is a good actor but I do not think he has it in him to do the physical aspect of this movie. One thing that made this series different from the others is that it did the special effects the old fashioned way. Stunt men where used and not too much cgi graphics. This movie follow suit except for the fact that you know beyond a shadow of a doubt that that is not ford. Also this movie has a few scenes which are just not believable. No matter what in the other movies it seemed possible that he could do some of the things he did in those movies. Whereas in this movie its just not possible some of the things he does. Labeouf plays a good sidekick but he is not good trying to play a tough kid. Allen is in the movie for about 45 mins as is hurt. Blanchett well what can I say.. she plays a russian with an average russian accent. She spends most of the movie yelling and screaming in russian while shooting a gun. She also gets physical in a few scenes but she basically does not have a lot to do here. Part of the problem with this movie is that it has to live up to the legend of the other films. If this was a stand alone movie it would have been fine but sad to say it is not. I can reccommend this movie if you are a fan of the series and want to complete it. If not you could really skip it because there is not much here. Even the action sequences are not up to the usual indy par.

Boll tries to make a good movie which I give him credit for. Its not like he goes out to make a bad movie. The story tells of a man called farmer whose family is attacked by some creatures who are being controlled by a evil magician. They kidnap his family so he goes out and tries to save them. He thens meets up with the king's soldiers and ends up fighting with them. Then the king dies and he finds out he is the new king. Then he goes out and fights the evil magician. Now that story does not sound so bad. The major problem with this movie is the casting. There are a few actors miscast in this movie which tend to bring the movie down. Reynolds cast as the king is horrible. Liotta cast as the evil magician is horrible. Lillard cast as the foolish nephew who teams with the evil magician is horrible. Is this boll's fault that they are horrible?? well somewhat but not totally. Yes people I am defending Boll. I have seen many many directors with better casts making horrible movies and yet they are not attacked. Yet boll who makes a lot of video game movies is constantly being attacked. Ok now in reading some of the newspaper reviews of this movie they characterize iron man as a b level comic book character. After seeing how much money this movie made I guess he can now be called A list. The story tells of a rich arms dealer who ends up being taken hostage by some terrorists. They try to force him to make a high tech missile for them. He ends up making a suit of iron and escaping. After he gets home he wants to change the way his company does business. Downey plays tony stark the arms dealer. Bridges plays the board member who does not want to stop selling arms. So he tries to block stark from changing the way they do business. There is a side story between downey and paltrow. I really do not know why paltrow is in this movie. She is wasted as his assistant with not much to do but be window dressing. Then there is a another sub plot where the terrorists find stark's left over armor. I really think they wrote a pretty good script for this movie and its well done. One thing I really liked about this movie is that there where not long stretches of special effected scenes. Like the current trend of marvel movies which have long stretches of CGI scenes this one really does not have it. Yes there are scenes of special effects but they are not long 20 min scenes which the other marvel movies end up having. Lets face it .. this is a popcorn movie. If you are watching this movie for a deep plot then you are wasting your time. This is a fun movie with twists and turns worth a viewing. Its a good start to the summer.

You know there is a problem when a movie when someone is pictured as a star of a movie and he is only in the movie for around 20-30 mins. Yes I am talking about katt williams. This movie tells the story of two men who need money so they decide to rob a church. As they are going about to robbing the church they find a bunch of people in the church so they take them hostage. Then all silliness ensues which makes the movie bad. There is not much of a comedy here with the bulk of the funny scenes being in the ads. I am sure williams is funny in his comedy act but not here. He is not given enough to go with. Morgan is funny but in an annoying way so eventually he just becomes annoying. Cube plays the straight man to morgan's silliness. I will admit that I am not a guy ritchie fan. I do not think he is a very good director and most of his movies are horrible. This one fits the bill to a tee. Statham plays a man released from jail who liotta has a problem with. Somewhere along the way statham gets involved with benjamin and pastore. They tell him he is dying and they help him get his revenge on liotta. You throw in a figure called mr. gold and you add a bunch of twists and turns and you have a formula for a bad movie. The acting is well uhm.. bad. The action sequences are ok but with all the confusion going around they get lost in it. Sometimes a movie is too smart for its own good. This is one of those movies. All these stars and its still a bad movie. Of course all the jump cuts and going 20 mins ahead of time then 1 day behind does not help the movie at all. I think that style can work if it is done right and in this case it is not. Skip this movie at all costs.

I have seen a lot of movies and there have been none that have left me speechless.. until this movie. What surprises me even more is that this is the #1 movie the week it comes out. Fey plays an executive who catches baby fever. She wants a baby badly but cannot have one. She comes up with the idea of paying for a surrogate to have her baby. In comes poehler as the surrogate. There is where the comedy begins. Poehler does not look a day over 50 and she is playing the surrogate. Of course her character is poor white trash and fey plays the stuck up lady who likes everything done a certain way. She then meets kinnear and romance ensues. To say that this movie is predictable is an understatement. There are some scenes that are funny but you have already seen them because they are in the commercial. Then he helps her get some revenge and they end up having a cat and mouse game until the end. The tension is well done as is the acting. I have to admit this is not a very good movie to be honest. Well I already know that I will be getting a few disagreements when I write this review. This is another in a long line of pretentious films who try to be cute and funny and really are not. I think past of the problem with this movie is that it comes with a lot of hype attached to it. Yes this is a cute movie about a young lady who is pregnant and the family she wants to adopt her child. Bateman and garner are good as the couple especially bateman. He plays the cool guy who in the end does not live up to his coolness. Garner plays his uptight wife who loves things a certain way. I think the major star of the movie obviously is page and in watching this movie I can see why she did not win. In watching her character I feel as if I have seen her character before. I know it won an academy award for writing but it seems like her character is a mish mash of different screen characters with hardly any originality. The "funny" scenes are few and far between with the actor playing juno's "bf" being played as if he is almost retarded. Juno's parents find out their 16 yr old daughter is pregnant and almost do not miss a beat. They accept it and are like ok whatever. I can see why this movie got a lot of hype and I can see why people will go to see it but I really do not think this is a very good movie. Its very unoriginal as are the "quirky" characters also.

This is one of the first movies that Al Pacino does not overact in. Normally he is yelling and screaming and spitting all over the place in his movies. This one he is actually pretty calm with only one yelling scene. He plays a forensic psychiatric in which his testimony puts a man on death row. The eve before the man is supposed to be executed all of these things happen to make it look like he is innocent. Around that time pacino gets a threatening call telling him he has 88 mins to live. This is where the roller coaster starts with quite a few twists and turns. I think part of the problem with this movie is there are TOO many twists and turns that it jumbles up the movie. Then the ending is kinda.. plain. All of these things happen to pacino and he just acts like it ok. You really do not see too much panic when things that normal people would panic over happen. He is making calls and having calls made for him. He is investigating everybody and of course he has a lot of pull with the FBI. Parts of this movie just do not make sense but overall its actually pretty good. I think the acting in this movie is decent and the action and tension is there but it should have been done up more. Seeing pacino walk around while his whole world cumbles around him is not realistic. He runs around having everybody searched and is making a whole bunch of calls in a day. Overall this is worth a viewing if you have nothing better to see.
