Sure, sure, 2008 has seen a lot of big headlines, and will certainly see alot more. From the Olympics in China to the upcoming presidential election, this is a year filled with exciting times. However, dont let those headlines distract you from the truely important things going on this year. Because the biggest news of the year is of course the true start of what we all knew "next gen" could mean in video games. This year is only half over, and we have seen games like Grand Theft Auto IV, Super Smash Bros. Brawl, Unreal Tournament III, God of War: Chains of Olympus, and Haze... oh wait, scratch Haze from that list. Oh, and nay I forget Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots, which, dare I say, is the GREATEST GAME OF ALL TIME!!!!... erhem... in my humble, non-opressive opinion anyway. Anyway, the reason I have chosen to ramble on in this blog is to spread the good cheer by saying: this is just the biggining. Some of the biggest releases are yet to come this year (Fallout 3, Killzone 2, Resistance 2). I'm not sure I have ever seen so many promising games come out one after another like I have this year. To be honest, it would be hard to be disastisfied with whatever ends up winning game of the year after this 364.75 day sun revolving trip ends come december.
