So I don't know if anyone actually reads my blogs, but if you do, I decided I should blog about one of the most beautiful things ever. Mathematics.
I know, I'm crazy right??? OK wait before you stereotype me as some crazy person who can do crazy multiplication in my head and can recite pi to 100 digits... hear me out! I never was great at my timetables (thats more memorization than math anyways) but I was always good as a kid at puzzles and things and this is what helped me in math in elementary school. In high school, when real math begins IMO, I started to find it fascinating. Some parts obviously are annoying but it just got cooler and cooler as I learnt more and more.
Now I am University, and have declared math as my major, and boy I am excited! This year (I am in first year) I took 2 math courses; calculus and linear algebra. Calc is kinda cool and is more related to math i already knew (functions and such) but linear algebra is what really got me into it. It's just such a complex thing, multiple dimensions and such... impossible to picture in real life but yet, makes so much sense. And when I learn it, I just feel like my brain is expanding at a crazy rate, it's an amazing feeling! I love it. And I know I've only barely hit the tip of the iceberg of mathematics, and I still have 3 more years to learn more. I'm actually really excited. The crazy part is that the smartest persn in the entire world won't even be able to understant it all... its just sooooo big.
And its really cool how matrices, although seem so useless to real life actually have a huge application to almost everything. It's really cool. And when I'm done school I'm going to teach math so I can pass on my love for math to others.
Oh and Tom... if you're being a creeper and reading this A) you need a life B) You shouldn't have given up on math.

That's ok...people thought I was nuts (and am nuts) for loving to write and for taking these advanced writing classes in college. So I know what you mean...
