2 days ago, my dentist died of a heart attack. Today, my barber's husband hanged himself in their basement. Like . . . wow. Just wow. Don't know what to say.

I can't even imagine what they're going through. I've never had anyone really close to me die.

It's been the same in my town. 3 years ago two of my friends died in a car accident. 2 months later a friend of mine was murdered. 3 months after that another friend died in a hunting accident. These are also only the deaths that affected me, there actually were a few more and I live in a small town so it was a pretty big deal.

She got picked up walking home from a party by a stranger. He was demented, did what he did then left her in a ditch. He was caught about a week later so it was a pointless crime on his part.

Depression. The most widely believed theory points to the recession as the reason. Not so uncommon nowadays.
