So I was saving up all of my money to buy a laptop, but my parents changed their minds and wouldn't let me get one.
So, having only a Wii and 3 games, I figured I'd use the money to buy a PS3 or a 360 instead. The problem is, I can't decide which one is better.
PS3 has better CPU and free online, plus an internet browser and I like the menu system better than 360's.
360 has a better GPU and the graphics on the 360 look crisper and more vivid to me, plus Live is sometimes more dependable than PSN, also has cross game voice chat, and ALL of my friends have 360s except for one friend who lives across the street who has the new PS3 slim.
Gamewise, the only main games I'm looking forward to at this point are:
Bad Company 2 (It's on both platforms, but something tells me it'll look better on 360)
Crysis 2 (On both again, but the PS3 might be able to handle CryEngine3 better, I don't know.)
Gran Turismo 5 (PS3 exclusive.)
Halo Reach (360 exclusive.)
EDIT: PS3 ALSO has a blu ray player and built in Wi-Fi. My family is relativly poor and paying for Live might be a bit tricky. So, free PSN might be a better way to go instead of paying $50 a year for Live Gold AND a $80 WiFi thing for the 360. I'm only a freshman and if I want something I have to buy it myself. Blu ray discs also hold a lot more game content on them.
The way I see it, the 360 has better graphics but in the long run will cost me a lot more (especially with Natal coming...) and that's money I might not have. The PS3 haves everything I need out of the box, except for a game or two of couse. The only other problem though is that I don't have many friends (only 3 I can think of) with PSN.
So.. which do I buy? Help! ![]()
Hey guys. Yes I am alive, I just haven't been on GS in a few months. I don't actually plan on staying, but I was wondering if you guys could help me with something.
There is a laptop I'm eyeing up, a Gateway NV7802u, and all of the specs are what I need, but I heard the graphics card on it is worthless.
The laptop has an Intel Core 2 Duo T6600 (2.2GHz, 800MHz FSB, 2MB L2 Cache), Runs Windows 7 (64-bit), has 4GB of memory, and has a 17.3" HD Widescreen Ultrabright™ LED-backlit Display.
Basically everything I ever wanted in a laptop. Plus, it's only $650. The only problem is I play PC games. The description of the graphics card on the specs list says this:
"Chassis with Intel® Graphics Media Accelerator 4500MHD with up to 1759MB of Intel® Dynamic Video Memory Technology 5.0, supporting Microsoft® DirectX® 10 and Mobile Intel® GM45 Express Chipset"
My question to you is, can this graphics chip play PC games (WoW, Borderlands, etc.) maybe not on high settings, but close?
Thanks!
I just thought I'd list my favorite webcomics! You may ask why my top 3, not top 5, top 10, or etc. Well, I only have 3 favorites. ![]()
#1 - xkcd
Why? Read this comic and you'll understand. ![]()
#2 - AmazingSuperPowers
Why? Because pancakes are awesome.
Why? Because a radioactive sparrow said so.
