So, I was sitting down this evening, feeling bored, when, without any input from anyone at all, I thought "Hmmm, do you intend to do a blog on the new BBC idents, Islander? I just know you like that kinda thing...". Of course Islander tends to think in the third person, yes he does...
So, without further ado, I give you Space and Forest:

Wooooooooo! Well, woo anyway.
Something that is also new are these silly "let's mix the closing credits with an advert and a now/next/later list, just to be ultra-irritating, and then to be uber-irritating let's do so across all our channels" boards. Hmph. Don't like them
.
I would comment on the last episode of Doctor Who in this blog, but there isn't room. Seriously, there isn't. Well, perhaps I'll say this: (Steamy, don't click!)
***SPOILER***
Something else I'll blog about is my friendly Cyber Replicant Human Prototype 6000. See, those of you *coughmattcough* who might find this programme interesting, but are in the UK, will probably be thinking "hang on, how does he know about this? I haven't seen it air here". Well, it hasn't, but lovely Umbrella Entertainment of Aussie made a DVD (well, four. Well, four and a lizard) containing all 26 episodes. So, what I am doing is this: I watch an episode, then create it's guide and fill it up*. Kinda like giving birth to a baby each episode you watch, and then fattening that baby up.
Anyway, to get back to the point, one quote I took down really struck me - it made me draw a huge parallel between Rhyss from Cybergirl and the Demon Headmaster from, well, guess. It was this quote:
Anyone who's watched The Demon Headmaster should be able to pick out the exact line I'm talking about.
Couple more things before I wrap this blog up: firstly, a small prod at a little adolescent boy who lives, I believe, in Poole (though my memory is failing me...). Thou who thinks that my spelling is poor. Thou who picks me up on it every other sentance. Yes, you know who you are - I have my monkeys on their way to sort you out
.
Second, my second installment of "This is My Life", namely a picture. Here you go:
***SPOILER***
Well, I think that about wraps it up. Ciao!
Islander out/
* - you may notice that this blog is rather - punfull. It is at this asterixed (shush, Matt...) point that I thought "Whoah, I'm on fire!", and started typing at twice the pace. Not quite sure what's up with me tonight...
Note to Steamy: You might want to steer clear of the comments until you watch Utopia

| Rhyss: At last, Cybergirl, just the two of us. Hospitals are such difficult places to get out of, aren't they. You've been having second thought's about my offer? Cybergirl: No way. Rhyss: You should, you know. You and I are bound to join forces sooner or later. Cybergirl: You and me? Rhyss: ...because, we are supirior beings. Equal to one another, but way above everyone else. With your cyber powers and my own genius, we could rule the world. Cybergirl: But, I don't want to rule the world. Rhyss: Change it, then. What is it now? Chaotic, untidy, disorganised. But you, you are such precision, you work and think like a perfectly tuned machine. Wouldn't you like to see an entire civilisation just as perfect? Cybergirl: If I was perfect I wouldn't be here. I'm being hunted down because I was a mistake! But, I like the way I am, and I want to live in River City, just the way it is. |

Is it wrong that as soon as I saw the forest thing on the beeb this afternoon I thought of Torchwood nasties? Not sweet little fairy type things. Oh dear. I was really upset for Chantho, poor wee thing, the last of her species and no-one took a damn bit of notice of her dead on the floor. Alright so there might have been other things going on, but you know, a bit of recognition wouldn't have hurt. I'm babbling again. Sorry.
I'm noticing a glut of people on this site who have no faces. Its a worrying trend and leads me to thinking of conspiracy theories a la 'The Wire'. hmmm..

Lin, idents are amazing! Pure genius! Unless they're ITV idents, of course...
TV Ark is the place for anything identy. Here's a direct link to the BBC1 idents.
As for who's submitting to the guide: me! Ha! You were right
.
Yes, subs have been suprisingly low to Who, and yes, all quotes (bar the most recent one) have been mine. Those that have been submitting have all submitted the same thing (a. changing the titles to 1/2/3, b. adding the trivia about Barrowman's credit).
LH, it wasn't wrong at all - I know exactly what you mean

It would be amazing if they kept it until TW came back and added a couple of nasty beasties in after the watershed as a promo.

I see you're one of the lucky ones unaffected by the level-eating bug. Great!
I really liked 'Utopia' even though I was very sceptical at the beginning. Will Simm be typecast as a time-traveler now?

I saw the alien/moon-landing ident before Dr Who on Saturday and got really confused. I don't like what they're doing with the end credits on BBC either.
I am just waiting for my level to get back to normal and then- look out, Utopia submissions-a-go-go! Brace yourself...
Utopia was just amazing and I got to hear the four words I've been waiting for since the new show began- and spoke by none other than Derek Jacobi! Woohoo! Yes, I am a geek - your point being...
Interesting pic too. I wouldn't like to comment on which one you are though. I don't want you sending your monkeys after me.

Right, before we start, Lin, you should know it wasn't me who submitted those spelling mistakes for Waterloo Road. It was a user called Tonic2255 who added those summaries.
Oh, and Islander, I found a submission for Utopia that had (and still may have) sentence spelt with an "a". I assumed it was by some incompetent submitter...
...and decided to edit it. But the thing is, I'm Level 1, and can't do submission at the moment. Damn, I guess I'll have to sit and bare terrible, terrible spelling...

Moving on, it's nice to see I don't have a huge influence over your blogging life...
Next, you'll be letting me have my own column in your blog. I'd quite like that...*cough* hint *cough*...
Poole...Poole...? Who could possibly live there...? (How do you know these things, Islander? How!?)
Oh, and it's interesting you also have to paint your hair. Very skillfully done, I might add.

Say hello to Sandbanks for me. I likes Sandbanks
. How do I know these things? Well, that would be telling...
And for your information, Mr. Pitt, you won't find a single sentance in the Utopia guide. Not a single one. Don't know what you're talking about
A column in my blog? That'd just be weird.
As for the painted hair, 'tis easy. Looks better for the security staff, though - they have to work against the blue walls
