Lots of great new shows this year and also many returning series!! Lets run them down. First i'll list my favorite new TV shows in order.
1) Heroes - What a suprise this show was, for me at atleast. Even on the day it premiered I wasn't sure I was even going to record it... but boy am I glad I did. A wealth of interesting characters and great writing adds to the incredibly cool atmosphere of the show and makes Heroes favorite new show this year.
2) Jericho - This show is by no means perfect... and It has quite a few noticable issues. HOWEVER, you can help but be intruiged by the premise of the show and I definitley like Skeet Ulrich as the lead.
3) Studio 60 - Behind the scenes of a late night comedy show is definitley something that interests me. The writing as well as the acting is sharp. It's not quite a show that I watch every week... but when I am able to watch it, it does not dissapoint.
4) Vanished - Fox's latest serialized drama is quality television... I've become very interested in the kidnapping and the some subplots beneath it, and the latest episode was one of the best episodes of tv this year (second only to the 3rd episode of heroes)
5) Justice - The first episode was fantastic and the other episodes i've seen have also been pretty entertaining. I don't really care about any of the characters though so i'll probobly end up watching this on fox's episode streaming service when I have the time. (Let me add that I think the networks streaming their shows online is awsome and I hope the continue doing it throughout the year and during the years to come)
6) The Nine - I only watched this because it some 2 actors from Prison Break and 1 from 24. This one usually ends up on my DVR to be watched some time later... Show isn't bad persay... but just nothing to interesting.
New shows yet to premier: 30 Rock (I know its premiered already, but Im going to give it a go during NBC's new Thursday night lineup) The Black Donnelys. (Irish mobsters, need I say more?)
Returning shows:
Prison Break: Started out a bit rocky, but has gotten much better. At the moment it's better than alot of season 1.
The Unit: What a great show! It's slowly becoming one of my absolute favorites.
NCIS: Seems to be alot of hit or miss this season.
House: Still as good as ever... and some very interesting cases so far. I really can't wait for this new cop to enter the picture.
Lost: Better than most of season 2 was, need a better mix of the tailes and other though!
My Name Is Earl: I haven't liked anything Ive seen this year, so its on the backburner atm.
The Office: Still hilarious and still my favorite comedy.
ER: This is the first year i've watched ER... it seems pretty good.
Fox's Sunday Lineup: Nothing ground breaking here... the same old quality animation lineup and TWAH which is suprisingly funny.

S5 wasn't quite the best season of 24, but it was incredibly exciting from start to finish with some of the best acting of any of the seasons. It started out a bit sour with the deaths of some of my favorite characters, but what followed that was great. The airport situation was tense, exciting, and wrapped itself up nicely. Never before have I been so far off the edge of my seat after almost every episode, the pacing in the first half of the season was incredibly fast. Things such as Walt/Spencer/HostageSituation were handled quickly and effectivley.
There were only 2 weak episodes this year, and that is much less than years past; first off is the Vossler episode. It was pretty boring from start to finish, and then they had Vanessa kill Vossler which was incredibly predictable. The other weak episode is the main reason why S5 can sometimes bring a sour taste to my mouth: Tony' death... it was handled terribly (Check that epsiode review for my full feelings on the subject) For the most part however I am able to put those feelings aside and realize how great the rest of the day was.
Jean Smart and Greg Itzen are a big part of what made the season so good, there acting was fasntastic and the writers gave them some great stuff to work with.
There were a couple different villians, all of which I found interesting except for Ivan Erwich (Yellow Tie Guy) Anton Beresch's was your typical ruthless, willing to die for his cause, type of terrorist.. but the part was acted well. Bierko was also pretty interesting, he definitley looked the part... and his voice was pretty cool sounding. They set up the conflict between Jack and Henderson pretty well, and my favorite scene of the season was in episode 23 when Jack executed Henderson. (What kind of person does that make me?!? :p )
They managed to find another terrorist threat that was credible and new to the series; Nerve Gas. This was the main focus of the first half of the season and created for some good tension, near-missed attacks and also for the most chilling part of the season; the attack on CTU and sadly Edgar's death which unlike Tony's, was handled perfectly.
Overall, the season was one of the best despite some weak moments that held it back a bit. Despite those moments, I'm looking foward to season 6 with an incredible amount of anticipation.
Here is how season 5 compares with the other seasons in my oppinion (rated out of 10)
Season 3: 9.6
Season 2: 9.5
Season 5: 9.3
Season 4: 9
Season 1: 8.6

I can't make a decision, I don't have tivo, and Its such a pain recording with vhs.
I was just about ready to make the switch over to Bones after being repeadatley dissapointed with season two of lost, but then what does ABC do??? Give us all a great episode named "The Long Con." It had everything that made Lost great last year, the best of which was the amazing tension between Locke, Sawyer, and Jack. And they top it off with two equally suprising and interesting twists.
Bones on the other hand is a show that I want to do good mostly because Its rare that I find a crime drama that I enjoy as much as I do this one. Bones stands out to me because its a great mix of intruiging, comical, and likeable characters with story lines that usually interest me.
Of course... soon when Bones is moved to 8, it will be completley out of the question because I don't get home untill 9 ish.

Some people just don't have opinions. Like Zoolander53.
Zoolander53 must really love MovieTome and agree with every review we've ever written! What other reason could Zoolander53 possibly have for not rating a single film?
