Finally an answer and suggestion from a marketerr of what needs to be done to get games noticed.

One thing that was left out of both my blog and his blog. GIVE IT TIME. Word of mouth takes time to spread and even more time for a group to finsh a game then decide if it has a replayabilty factor.

i think the modern philosophy when it comes to marketing in games is make it as "epic" *shuders* as possible. A game about shark-eating shark-people? Give the shark-people shotguns, harpoons and nuclear weapons. In the sequel they will be eating small suns.

That was great - I am linking to your blog from my google account so I won't lose track again the next time i have a hard drive crash. That is very interesting and I will have to read through all of them

I liked the point about the even playing field. I wouldn't like to get into a game knowing that I would have to put in days of slogging before working on my skills.
