GAMES: GameSpot GameFAQs MOVIES: Metacritic Movietome Comic-Con
Thursday, Nov 29, 2007

I've been here long enough to see the blatant bias in this site's reviews, but I never thought it would come to this. Yes, Gamespot has allegedly fired a reviewer for going against the site's advertising.

You see, the game was Kane and Lynch. A fairly average game, that's for sure. Jeff G. reviewed the game as a 6.0, which doesn't seem that bad. Well, in the weeks leading up to this the site was plastered in advertisements for Kane and Lynch. Apparantly, Gamespot has FIRED Jeff G, (the site's best reviewer) for giving a game that sponsors this site such a low score.

Sure gives more credence to Gamespot's Microsoft bias, and the fact they recieve monetary contributions from Microsoft. Could this be why Playstation and Wii games have been recieving the short straw in review scores? We can logically assume yes.

I urge you all to stop supporting this site. If this rumor proves itself true, I will never return to this website in any way, shape, or form. This includes this blog or forum posts. I will also start a public boycott against this site by notifying organizations such as Consumerist as to this site's shady business practices. After all, we're paying them to be fair and balanced. And they're not delivering.

There's a thread in the Off-topic about this. Even moderators are jumping ship! This is truly a dark day for Gamespot.

Shame on you, C|Net. You used to have credibility.

I can tell this is reaching big-time status when a moderator bumps one of my ranty postings. Thanks.
