I just got back from the "Distant Worlds" premiere in the states.

If you're not sure what it is, its a concert (orchestrated) of Final Fantasy music, spanning Uematsu's music from the series. I also got to see the man himself which is quite the achievement for a fan of Final Fantasy's music, like me.

The concert was beautiful and exciting. It opened with Final Fantasy VIII's "Liberi Fatali" and immediately I was hooked. After that, Final Fantasy X's "To Zanarkand" was played, which is a personal favorite of mine.

Other songs were played, including "Maria & Draco" & "Terra's Theme" from Final Fantasy VI; of course, "One-Winged Angel" from Final Fantasy VII was played, plus a bunch of other songs.

They also had the audience vote against five songs for which Uematsu and the conductor would bring to future concerts. The two that had the most votes were Final Fantasy VI's "Dancing Mad" and Final Fantasy VII's "J.E.N.O.V.A."

It was an amazing experience and really makes me want to play through all the Final Fantasies again. Also makes me wish SE would hurry up and release XIII!

They sadly didn't have much in terms of FFIV's music. There was a medley of the NES/SNES FF songs, but there wasn't a specific song from FFIV. It was mainly FFVIII, FFVII, FFIX and FFVI. Oddly, they had like two from FFV which I was curious about. They were good, but V isn't one that is that well-known I thought.
