Cosplay (noun)

1. a word combined with "costume" and "play"

2. avid anime, manga, movie, etc. fan who dresses up as a character

That is my definition of cosplay.

Cosplay... it is taken in a both a positive and negative reaction.

"Ewh! That person looks horrible as insert name here!"

"omg, he/she's so sexy."

My question is... why do some people think cosplays are so bad? Sure, not everybody is a clothing designer or can afford the most expensive accessories or even need to shed a few pounds.

But what I think is most important about cosplay is that you should HAVE FUN making or searching for your costume, enjoy yourself in public, and justfeel happy withthe effort you put in to create the image of your character!

Regardless of how unfitting a cosplay is, don't be rude! EVERYBODY has different interpretations or styles of what they want to be. If you don't have anything nice to say, DON'T SAY ANYTHING!
